Hmmm, use DiskUtility to check your media drive(s). Plus, is there a new driver available for your raid/connection card? From what OS version did you upgrade?

If you want to darken the outside video, the most flexible way would be in Red with the BCC 3Way Color Grade filter.
Select your clip in the Timeline and press CMD-Shift-E to load it into Red. In Red, apply a BCC 3 way Color Grade filter to the layer (from the Filters->Colors and Blur Menu).
In the 3 way CC controls, go to the “Mask” tab and set it to “Egg Shape”. Use the controls in the Composite window to set it to a shape you like.
Then go to the “Outside Correction” tab, and either bring down the “Exposure” or use the Gamma/Gain sliders (under the “wheels) to darken your outside clip. Using the Feather slider in the Composite window or in the Mask controls you can set the softness of your vignette transition. -
Okay, found a little bit of time this weekend, and did a first initial test on 10.10. So far Media 100 seems to work; at least it launches (with a little trick), and it worked as expected in a little quick test. Unfortunately I don´t have much material here at home, so I am not really able to test it more in depth. But if there is nothing mayor broken, I think support for Yosemite seems possible.

Andy,
I have been pretty busy the last couple of weeks and missed large parts of the discussion here. Hope to be back more regularly in the next couple of days.
Speaking about your Yosemite test: I haven’t found the time to install 10.10 on one of my systems for now but will do next week. What kind of issue do you see when trying to launch Media 100?
For earlier versions there was an OS check, disabling the app on newer OSes; but this could easily be changed unless there are other issues with 10.10 and Media 100.I will start my tests next week. And btw., most of my work in the last couple of months has been on Media 100, so I will not let it go easily 😉

You can bring in nearly all tapeless formats; but some are supported natively and some need to be converted. If you shoot a lot of material you will probably be better off with a format that is supported natively in Media 100, like ProRes, DVCProHD, AVC Intra (via Plugin),…

[Andrew Mehta] “Good News -> Apple upheld a Consumer Law Claim, and I’m getting a brand new MacBook Pro replacement, free of charge, =S.”
Great. Is it a current generation? If it is an older version, you could revert to an older OS. MacTracker tells you what the minimal OS for your MBP is. You can look up the model identifier in the System Profiler.
[Andrew Mehta] “ctually – I ought to ask. 7.5. is very fast and responsive, mainly due to the hardware (P6000 card). I always found Suite 1.1.3 a bit laggy, because it was software only. “
That should not be the case. Your “old” MacBook is probably not the quickest. But except during a time when Media 100 transitioned from hardware-based to software-only, I had the feeling that the new software-only systems are much faster than the old ones. A I/O hardware will not help there.
If you got a new MBP, you could download the 2.1.5 trial version to see how this performs on your new MacBook Pro; this way you at least can compare it to your 7.5 setup. -

August 12, 2014 at 11:11 am in reply to: Weirdness with xdcam transfer tool and .mxf filesI think I remember that there were some issues with Suite 1.7.1 and “wrong” audio information on QuickTime clips. You could give V2.1.5 a try to see if this is fixed. Download the trial version and re-import some of the clips. I guess the import will work correctly there.

[Michael Slowe] “Could we please have a Post from both Media 100 (Boris) and Floh, if he has time, I know he’s busy running Magic Eye!”
Actually I am thinking about doing some color correction tutorials with Media 100s integrated color corrector and with Red. Still, you are right, I have to find some time for this. While the results usually look (hopefully) easy, it involves some work to prepare and do these things.
I will let you guys know when I find the time for them.

Strange, I use the Color Correction a lot, and I never see crashes with it. What kind of CC do you use?

Hmmm, I´ve seen an issue with media storage on a server, where some part of the Resource fork is not written until Media 100 is closed. What kind of error message do you get when trying to play back one of the files in QuickTime Player?
