No problem, just post your questions. Btw., do you have a keyboard shortcut guide? Can be quite helpful. If you don´t have it, let me know your email address and I can send you a PDF…

    To set a sync mark:

    – double click the clip you want to set a sync mark to load it into the Edit Suite
    – Move the CTI (the time cursor) to the location you want to set a sync mark to (you should be in “Edit Clip” mode now
    – Go to the “Tools” Menu ->User Marks -> Set Sync Mark (or Press CTRL-F6)
    – Click “Apply” in the Edit Suite if you have set up your system not to auto-apply clips to the bin
    – Double-click your next clip
    -…

If you want to sync multiclips via Mark In points instead of sync marks, you can do that also. Set mark in points and then choose “Mark In” in the “Make Multiclip” dialog

[Gary Milligan] “It’s been 38 minutes since I clicked ‘Convert’ and the file is done. All is well. I apologize if you’ve read this thread, gotten nothing useful from it, and felt it a waste of your time. I’ve learned something and am glad to share it.

Good to know. Not sure if there is an issue with the 2.4.4 version or what, but maybe this helps somebody else in the same situation.

What kind of errors do you get when you place the 4k clip in a 1080 timeline? It works fine for me…
If you want to deliver HD, you should start with a 1080 timeline and drop your 4k clips into it. This way you should be able to get good realtime performance and full quality HD output once rendered.

Okay, now I understand. Adobe did some strange changes which actually are blocking the Aja card. Set the video out to Media 100, and you should be able to switch back and forth

If you are speaking of AE CS 5.5 (not AE 5.5), you should have the output options available. It looks like the “regular” Aja output does not work with CS5.5, but the Media 100 version does. Maybe you need to reinstall Media 100 Suite or the Aja driver?

November 23, 2011 at 3:02 pm in reply to: Media100 and RED MISBEHAVING AGAIN!! in suite 2x?

One additional suggestion regarding the “Apply” problem: I always use the “Apply” button in Red that is located in the timeline window (in the lower right corner), not the one under the Composite viewer window (the one that only looks like a checkmark icon). In theory they should not behave differently, but maybe they do. So maybe give it a try and exit Red with the “Apply” button at the lower right corner of the Timeline window.

November 17, 2011 at 6:38 pm in reply to: XDCAM Transfer frustration

You could try the new version, XDCam Transfer 2.13. And you also could check your Cache Location & Cache size. Maybe you need to Clear the cache or to remove the actual Cache folder; maybe it got corrupted. If you do a “check for installed components” from the Help menu, I guess everything shows up as green?

November 16, 2011 at 7:02 pm in reply to: Import Sony M2Ts Files??

Sony M2t files are most likely AVCHD clips. These clips cannot be edited by FCP (7) or Media 100 natively; you have to convert them. FCP does convert them via the Log and Transfer tool. If you select ProRes (or any other Media100-supported codec) there, you can use the FCP-generated files in Media 100 (via a fast import). Or you can use MPEGStreamClip or similar apps to convert them.

I think stills (especially with alpha) are always imported as Media 100/Uncompressed
