Which codec did you use for digitizing, and which for rendering? Did you export as by-ref or self-contained? Have you tried doing a QuickTime export to another codec?

The more CPU power the more realtime effects 😉
Really, as long as your peripherals (e.g. RAID) can keep up, additional CPU power enables more effects. E.g. you can get realtime transitions, ColorFX and Alpha channels on HD Uncompressed footage on a QuadG5, which you cannot on a DualG5. So expect to see even more realitme on an 8Core Intel system. -

Which kind of crashes do you get? What exact error message? Does the CrashReporter start up? Do you send the crashreports to Media 100?

if you need a Multicam solution for one of the newer (V10 and up) systems, let me know. There is a solution/workaround for this, and we use it on several big shows every week.

You can use the P6000 boards (but only the ones that are “Lossless capable”) with the Pre-DualCore G5s, the systems that used PCI-X boards. But you would need an expansion chassis to use them. So you are definitely much more up-to-date with a IntelMac and a SDe/HDe or Media 100 Producer.

you really should pay attention to comments and questions from SoftHarbor, since he knows more about the systems than most of us guys here. So please tell us what the exact error message is when you try to master to tape.
