  • I think there’s a lot that wasn’t covered and acknowledged in your workflow. I can vouch for exporting a progressive video from a sequence that defaults to i60 if you shot progressive… the whole 30p in a 60i container and what-not.

If you can give us some more details (it was shot at, captured at, etc.) we might be able to give you more solid advice.

There’s a small speaker icon in the lower left corner of your timeline. Click it. Then you’ll have new icons, a speaker and a headphone. They either isolate or mute the track they’re associated with.

If that’s not what you’re looking for you can always go to tools/keyboard layout/customize and make your own shortcuts/hot keys there.

  • Pretty sure this has been covered…

Switch the field dominance in your final cut pro sequence settings to None and export a self contained Quicktime (something like, Pro Res 422 1080p30) then run that quicktime through compressor using your 90min DVD Compressor settings. I think the key here is changing your field dominance to none and exporting something at 30p and not 60i.

    Exported from FCP…

    Quicktime conversion…
    H264
    Frame Rate: Current
    Key Frame: All
    Limit Data Rate: 8000
    Size: 1920×1080
    Render: Better

    Sound: ACC…

Tried 12000, and it definetly looked better, but still had grain in the dark areas. Would something like 15000 still play without glitches?

Thanks for the feedback. I’ll try to clarify.

If you’re mixing 4 different mics to a camera that has 2 xlr inputs, you have to combine those 4 sources into two tracks, right?… I think I just answered my own question.

Thanks for the feedback. But, what about when you have something animated beyond the frame and you aren’t zoomed into the frame? Figure you’d be able to move freely around the whole canvas, including the gray space beyond the frame.

Sorry, when I said mark, I didn’t mean a digital marker, I meant an audible one (clapper).

The cameras were turned on one after the other, so the frames in points aren’t synced to the audible marker.

The pic below is from the comp I’m trying to sync. Seems minimal, but the actions enough to make it noticable. (Comps at 99fps.)
