    Oh,

    Sorry ’bout that 8-/

    0.8333 -1 = 1.2

so the pixels are squished 83.33 % and get unsquished at 120 % to “become” widescreen

If you drop the comp in a square pixel 720×486, and then hit Command-Option-F to scale it to fit to comp size, you get the stretched output.

But if you drop it into a comp that has the right pixel aspect ratio (BTW for ntsc widescreen that’s 0,8333, not 0.9) After effects will scale it automatically to compensate for the difference.

the resulting rendered pixels will be the same, however, if you open up the non-square comp you have some extra-features like Pixel Aspect Correction for displaying in the correct aspect.

[nathan] “One last question. ANy idea how to give it that kinda glow when the effect is happening? With either method?

    try the ‘glow’ effect 😎

  • HI Cynthia,
like Seth said, you can apply a “sketch”-like effect to every frame of the video.
This might give a nice look, but it depends very much on the quality of the footage.
If there’s very little contrast or color in the image, the result may be dissapointing.

Check out Seth’s link and see if there’s a look there that you like.

Don’t know about zaxwerks, but in most 3D programs the time-killers are Bump Maps, Reflections, and Transparancy with refraction. If there’s just your average Shading going on, it shouldn’t render that sloww.

I on the other hand find Shine to be pretty fast, especially when compared to other high-quality Radial Zoom Blurs.
    Not sure about Particular.

You’re probably scaling the mask instead of changing the points,
make sure you have the pen-tool selected to edit paths.

And check the manual and some basic tutorials please, this is pretty basic stuff 8-/

    If I understand, you want:

I think you need to slice the left side into some strips using duplicate layers with masks and then arrange the copies from right to left on the other side, without flipping them.
Here’s one I did in photoshop, but I’m not sure this is the effect you want:
