It’s probably best to not risk anything, I live in Sweden and the laws here might be different than the US. However I once again thank you for sharing your information Andrew, it was interesting and I’m sure a lot of people can benefit and learn something from this thread.

+1 on Audition; however if you’re looking for a free alternative I wholeheartedly recommend Audacity, it’s developed by a group of volunteers as open source. It can do 75% of what Audition is capable of, and is almost as good in most aspects.

So, if I understand you correctly I’m allowed to use any font in my films as long as I, for example, use Auto-Trace to apply the shape of the characters to a solid or something, instead of using the font file directly? (I won’t do this, but I’m fascinated by this approach if this is true). -
True. I went with Google’s “Roboto” since it seems appropriate for commercial use. I’m using the bold version of the font, with the right formatting it looks really good. I was surprised to find out how many of the included fonts on my computer weren’t allowed for commercial usage…

Then I guess I’ll go with GoPro CineForm since me and my team because of miscellaneous reasons no longer want to work with ProRes. We’ll mostly use the codec to store (close to) uncompressed footage, and for motion graphics exchange etc.
Which format do you recommend to use with GoPro CineForm?:
Also, which quality setting do you recommend for GoPro CineForm (1-5)? When I put the quality setting on 5, the bitrate doubled ProRes’s bitrate. -
I agree 100%, however, I wasn’t the one who shot the material – it was handed to me.
Anyway, I put each video in its own 25 FPS-comp and just to be safe I also added a Posterize Time-effect to each clip. -
