September 2, 2011 at 3:28 pm in reply to: remove scan lines from 1080p 30 footage shot on HVX 200AIt’s called “remove pull-down” and the option to do it will be in different placed depending the software you are using. In After Effect it’s called Interpret Footage (right click on the file).

My two cents:
– Learn the persons name and use it anytime you can
– Give yourself some time to know them. See if you can call them on the phone or better take a coffee with them before the shooting day. If you can’t, give yourself some time to be there and see how they feel, what they need. Just be natural about it.
– Be yourself
– Do yourself a favor and have a shooting list
– Different people respond to different approaches when in front of a camera. I usually go in this order:
1) Let them be (some people just do their work fine)
2) Treat them as any other assistant (please look here, walk from there, etc.)
3) Break the fear of failure by making an intentional small mistake (and laugh about it)
4) Be assertive (not aggressive, just be the boss)– Remember that ONLY ONE PERSON is the director. If there are family, clients or any other kind of people giving instructions that you can’t just fire, get close to your actor, look at him in the eyes and give your instructions with a soft firm voice.

Your site looks the same in all my browsers (Safari, Firefox, iExplorer, Opera) running on Win7 64bit

Some tape making random marks on your green screen can help with the tracking.
You can use green tape or use any color and remove it later with a garbage mask.
This can help to calculate the perspective if you move your green screen way back from the gold pipes.
I hope this helps

August 23, 2011 at 3:51 am in reply to: Invig Pro 5.0.7 constant crashes when renderingI have a similar problem with AE CS5. Can render the preview but Render Queue crashes invoking 3D Invigorator Pro.
I also don’t have OpenGL checked (by default is deselected, I think) in the output options.
I have no problems with small timelines, but this comp is a couple of minutes long using the same instance of the plug-in (a 3D black witch flying around).
Could this be a bug or I’m missing some preference?

The easiest solution I can think right now is to add the blue bar to your background image.

That will depend on the look you are after. Some cameras has the option of changing the viewfinder from color to B/W, so it will be a good idea to do it and take a look there for real contrast between colors.
If you are planning to modify skin contrast adjusting color channels in post, be sure to consider how other colors in the scene will change.
I don’t remember exactly what adjustments I did to this video, but the background was a green-screen and the model was lighted with two soft boxes very close to the camera.
I hope this helps

It’s true, it doesn’t render.
Thanks!
