Add analogue audio out for HD too. Is it that hard to do? I mean sw could do it!

So which is the better quality if your mastering will be SD? The downconverted HD or shooting and staying in DVCPRO 50? Anybody compared the two?

I recovered a bad drive in putting it in the refrigerator or in the freezer for 30 min. or 1 hour (put it in a plastic bag first and try different lengths of time). It was only a 60 GB drive but as long as it was cold I could copy the data to another drive. It started to go bad again after 40 GB so I had to cool it down again. Worked nicely. Read that on the iternet somewhere that recovery companies do the same thing sometimes.

    Good luck,

I did not open the box, but I will if the problem persists. It seems to be a bad connection right inside on the BNC plug. I mean, after all these years the warranty is gone and I might as well have a look what’s inside the box if necessary. But right now just bending the cables in one direction does the job.

I don’t have the number of media 100 support.

In my case it was the breakout-box. It was a bad contact of one of the component connections starting to happen after years of use. I can still use my box if I pull the affected cable in a certain direction, then it works fine.

October 29, 2005 at 2:35 pm in reply to: media 100 HD audio delay?

    Thanks Floh,
should have asked days ago instead of trying to figure it out on my own.

Yes, the audio was synced to SDI1 giving the 3 frames delay. Works ok now.

Thanks a lot for your prompt answer on a Saturday afternoon!

September 1, 2005 at 3:43 pm in reply to: Import movie file to Boris RED

    Mark,

Yes, I normally open Boris directly from the graphics tract and it works fine for everything else. I just tried Boris stand alone to see if there would be a difference. I tried a few more codecs today and finally found one which works: Export a clip from media 100 HD and use “none” as compression codec and then I’m able to import that movie into Boris. I’ts a workaround at least! Most other codecs don’t work with my setup.

    Thanks for trying to help.

    Hi Mark

yes, tried new layers, tried to export media 100 files in different codecs before reimporting them to RED, put in some hours in this issue! I can import anything else, no problem, just not movies. And the funny thing is that it works in media 100i on my G4, just not inside HD or in Boris RED stand alone mode on the G5. Reinstalled RED 3.0.2, did not help either.

    Thanks

Same powerbook as Greg except 10.4.2.
Media 100 sw does not play realtime at all on my machine. Using LaCie 500 extreme with lossless or 360 media / PAL.
