I tried both ports on the BMD boards, and with different cables, checking the menu on both OSX preferences and Media Express – I could have the Canon 7D working, but not the HFS100. I also check every item on the HSF100 menu, several times. Wen you say “Set HFS100 to 1080i, 60i,” you mean on the HFS100 menu, right?
I’ll try one more time…
I’ll definitely check the Toshiba X-100 ! Did you test it via HDMI also?
I found this link at B&H, but the price is 229.00 – is it the same camera
Thank so much for all your information, it is helping a lot on my purchase decision!
Have a great weekend!Fabio Cormack

Kip,
Thank you for your response, is great to know the HFS100 is working with ATEM TVS – I have one HSF100 (which I like very much) but I cannot make it work with BMD Decklink Extreme 3D or Intensity Pro boards – although it works with all TV and monitors HDMI inputs, so I was afraid it would not work with ATEM TVS.
But I’ll give this flat cables a try. If the HDMI works fine I can save on SDI converters, as my cameras will be fixed as well and the cable lengths will not be more than 25′.
I’ll also intend to buy 3 Sony CX130, on sale at B&H for 349.00 Please, did you have any experience with this cameras with the ATS?
Thank you once again!
Best,
Fabio Cormack

Hi Kip,
Please, to connect the flat cables to the Vixias, what adapter (mini HDMI – HDMI) you use?
I have a Canon HFs-100 which I tried to use with BMD devices via HDMI, but seems the ordinary cables I use does not allow the HDMI signal to pass trough – they even makes the HMDI settings on the camcorder menu blinks and seems “locked” (although it works fine for my 7D/Ipad 2 and the same devices).
So I’ll give the Atlona flat cables a try. One last question: what Vixias are you using please?
Thank you so much in advance,
Best,
Fabio Cormack

I found this information on the web, does it applies to DaVinci?
” In order to get a resulting clip with a range between 0 and 1023, a 10 bits video format needs to be selected as the transcode’s format.
In YCC 709 (itu.709 is the norm for HD televisions, except some very very old ones that followed SMPTE 240), black is mapped to 16/64 and white to 235/940 in 8/10 bits. Values below 64 (10 bits) are called super black and above 940 super white. The “super” colors are mainly used for color correction as they won’t be noticeable on the television.”
So, It makes me think about the DV waveform scale:
This would mean legal video should be kept inside 64-940 range?
Also, I read the top and bottom 5 points of the 0-1023 10-bit scale are reserved for data only, no Image data is recorded… This would be true for the DV WFM scale?

Hi David,
A quick input here… I’m also learning Resolve and just assembled my Resolve station few weeks ago on a Mac Pro 2008, just before the 8.01 version with the color wheels. With a limited budged, and having followed the various advices to buy the Wave panel, as soon I saw the color wheels update I felt a little frustrate for the money spent on the Wave panel…
Well, I have to admit, I was wrong… Even with the color wheels, the use of a panel makes the DaVinci a totally new animal – it was made to be used with a panel. The Wave panel is great, and although not perfect, does a really amazing job controlling the software and it makes you not only well more productive, but you also feels more creative (and professional), having simultaneous controls instead just a mouse and keystrokes. The color wheels is great to give you a quick view of “where you are with the trackballs”, so they in matter of fact, complements the Wave trackballs with a visual feedback. So far, I’m very happy I followed the BM support and forum advices in getting the Wave.
