  • Thank you for your thorough description, but again, i’ve used the same system personally and i can grant you that with the right Ram speed and processor, After Effect becomes crazy fast.

Regardless, we’re all in the same boat and i with you the best

  • yo Ali! I’m gonna be brutally honest: i did use the same computer in the past and i confirm that despite its specs sound decent, it far from being powerful enough for AE 2023, try installing a super old version more in line with the age of the processor, like After Effects 2016. It will go slightly better; but my recommendation is to change the whole computer with one with recent components. I hope this response doesn’t ruin your day too much, but i prefer to let you know the truth immediately. Good luck and in case you help assembling a decent After Effects computer, send me a private message.

yo Zach! After Effects has some secret effects to achieve what you want in a simple way!

I-m gonna append a tutorial for you (go exactly to 3:36 for the effect you need, or watch the whole thing in case), this is for you, no additional plugins needed, hope that helps! 🔥

  • hey bro! to achieve that exact effect you need to:

-roto the subject on a duplicate of the footage, precompose it afterward

-3d track the footage, create the camera from it

-apply pixel sorter 3 with multiple constrained masks on the subject (one mask on a different body part)

-duplicate the pixel sorted layer for each body part, then keep only 1 constraint mask for each

-enable 3d for each layer copy, change the anchor point of each to its actual body part center

-rotate slightly each one to achieve true 3d depth

-it works on my side, i hope this guide helps yourself as well, have fun bro! 🔥

Hey Michael! Have you tried putting the resolution to “Full”?

  • looks interesting, can you make sure it gets approved on AEscripts? It’s a nice idea, but i’m a little concerned about the many security exploits of this plugin as long as its code is not thoroughly cleared by engineers. See if you can get it verified and clear on AEscripts and i will be the first one to buy it there.

October 17, 2025 at 5:29 pm in reply to: CC cylinder stroke width

No. cc Cylinder inherently distorts geometry in 3D space, so strokes and outlines get rescaled along the curvature. The effect rasterizes the layer before wrapping, so stroke thickness can’t stay constant.

To keep uniform stroke width, you need to <strong data-start=”252″ data-end=”264″>simulate the cylinder instead of actually using CC Cylinder.

Hey Maisie! it’s time to solve this. In order for me to give you the exact solution, can you please upload the video animation as a video file?
