    Jay.

One of the main reasons that i use Apple Motion for this kind of animation is that i do not have to fiddle around with math and expressions.

In apple Motion this thing would take just a few minutes to set up including the amount of flap and the flying away of the butterflies.

in motion you just need to drag some behaviors on the objects and the math is done for you.

I will try to make an example and upload it up for you.

If you want to keep the photoshop file editable then just convert the text layers into smart objects.
in this way your files will look fine in motion and you can always go back into photoshop to edit them.

    Hi

i think you are looking for something more like this tutorial:

    https://library.creativecow.net/articles/martin_chris/liquid_logo.php

it is possible to do in motion with some help from masks and emitters but to really get the effect
you need to do it in a 3D program like Cinema 4D

    Hey Michael

Make a particle emitter with a red circle colored by a red radial gradient.
Its a matter of adding a gravity and edge collision behavior to the emitter and then an object below the particle stream. Make sure to take the bounce strength of the edge collision down so the particles do not bounce all over the place, hence making them flow forward like a stream.

do not forget to turn on motion blur in the render drop down. this will make the particles look just like flowing blood.

you can see what it looks like here:
    https://reels.creativecow.net/film/blood-coming-out-of-a-needle

Give me your Email address and i can send you a sample file.

do not forget to turn on reflections in the object inspector and in the render drop down menu otherwise it will not show.

    Thanks for your answer.

    Our workflow is as follows:

We either capture PAL video from DV tapes or get 3D animations from MAYA or Cinema 4D.
Our sequence setting is DV pal with no interlacing because we use the video mainly for viewing on the computer.

Yes we do use variable bit rate.

Our output is to 720/576 at 25 fps
We usually output at a quality of 80-90% which retains the quality and also compresses the viseo to a reasonable size.

Regarding the audio – we use the default settings.

I think that the fact that our WMVs work perfectly on some PCs and not on others actually means that the problem is on the PC and not with our films do you agree?

We also tried to use sorenson squeeze which has a setting called POWERPOINT MP1 Large. The output is acceptable but its also 5 times heavier than WMV.

I think it is prefarable to use WMV and fix the codec problems on the PC stations.
