Basically I ended up just exporting the comp again as a .wav only …. as I already had the video on its own (and did not want to have to render it gain).

I was then able to put the two together inside Encore and build the DVD…so that’s good.

In addition to this I am still having problems trying to encode the composition to h.264

What I have noticed recently is when I import the after effect comp into Premiere the is no sound at all (audio channels are on).

However when I look at the original comp inside After Effects …and hit ram preview the audio is all there …and there is no problem.

It seems to occur when I render the comp via AME or import into Premiere Pro…. as if using another programme to view or render the comp just does not work.. and I loose my audio.

Sorry I forgot to say that I exported the comp via dynamic link and Adobe Media Encoder. It contains various Quicktime photo jpeg videos and text animation. I need to deliver onto DVD.

I was hoping I could convert the comp into mpeg2-DVD using AME then I could import the 2 (video and audio) assets into Encore to create the DVD. It always seems quicker to use AME rather than transcode inside Encore.

At the moment I have two files one .m2v file …which is all good… and the separate .wav file which has the first 15mins 48 secs missing for some strange reason.

As the video file is fine (which took a long time to render) I thought I would try and render just the audio from the comp again. I have tried Dolby Digital, PCM, Audio Waveform. However they all seem to come out the same…with the first 15mins 48 secs missing.

I have tried a couple of the h.264 presets … HDTV 720p seems to work fine however its the Vimeo HD preset which seems to give me problems.

The only thing I can see which is different between the two is obviously the target and maximum bitrate… and also the profile setting. The vimeo HD profile setting is 3.1 and the HDTV 720p is 3.2 Im not too sure if that would affect it. I dont have a lot of knowledge on profiles. That and keyframe distances.

Ok so you say I should alter the good preset until it gives stuttery results. Not too sure what I should alter first.

At the momemnt I am exporting as Quicktime animation and then converting to h.264 in mpeg streamclip …which seems to give good results.

I am running a imac I7 with 8GB Ram

I have exported the video as Quicktime photo jpeg and it seems to be fine.

So its definitely AME and a problem with h.264 …

I have deselected the “set keyframe distance” ..which was set at 25. However it still seems to create a stuttering wobbly effect. Other than that I cant think of anything else which would effect it.

Are there any other settings which could create this in AME with h.264?

I have run a batch script to resize the photos

I selected the folder I want and then set a new destination folder.

However for some reason it’s naming the new resized images rather strangely …they go from 0-100 and then when it got to 100 it jumped up to 1000… and then went back 113.

I could see this as is was saving them in the new folder

The original photos are all properly named from 01-1400 e.g 01.jpeg, 02.jpeg

So I’m not too sure why it would do this?

That’s true..on the Z5 it seems like you have to actually enable the extended clear scan function when you select the shutter speed (you then set the hz in the main menu). So hopefully that means it’s not on all the time!

I have disable the anti flicker mode.. So other than that hopefully there is nothing else on the camera that will try to interfere.

Last question… I read a few articles and it said that setting your shutter speed to sync with fluorescent lights was only possible with a global shutter and not rolling but this seems to work?

In terms of actual shutter speeds I seem to have more luck with slower speeds .. Anything more than a 100th and I can see that orange colour shift

I have turned off the cameras auto “anti ficker” function in the menu. I also set the shutter to 1/50th …. which seemed to work!

Obviously this was trying to anticipate the flicker but instead made it worse.

Just out of interest … is extended clear scan only for CRT monitors? or is it also for conditions with fluorescent light?
