  • Hi Ciro , thank you for your response!

Todd and Kevin nailed it with the bezier feature explanation. Check it out, it might be a help for you too. Your method sounds intense!

  • Todd, you nailed it. Thank you, both, Todd and Kevin for pitching in.

Under Spacial Interpolation of each Position keyframe it was set to Auto Bezier. Wow, no idea about any of that until now. I am going to go look this stuff up (after I watch the video!)

Thanks again, this place is always such a great resource. I appreciate the help.

    I figured it out!

It was the composite preview being generated every time I would drag a clip. I disabled it by clicking on the wrench icon in the timeline controls and un-checking, “Composite Preview During Trim”

Thank you both. I will probably just stop using that card and hope it doesn’t happen again, if it does, I will attack the issue then. I also might try re-importing the footage to see if that helps.

Does the speed of an SD card effect the transfer rate stability? Could a faster speed increase chances of skipping, if that’s even possible in the first place?

    Thank you.

He also makes another error in there saying alt+p for opacity keyframe when in reality it is shift+alt+p.

Okay, I just tried it and yes, shift+alt+p does work for the intended purpose of setting the position keyframe.

The exact course from Lynda which gave the wrong advice (amazingly) was: “After Effects CS6 Essential Training” with Ian Robinson, Chapter 4 lesson 2. The file name for the tutorial is: 04_02_Keyframes

Thanks again, guys. You are absolutely the best support on the web that I know of.

Thank you guys, very much, for the fast replies.

I won’t be at my computer until later tonight. I will post the results of shift+alt+p then. Also I will give you exact course name and chapter (I gave a basic description in first post, btw.)

    Thanks again,

Wow, the properties and set to accommodate Windows 7 feature really helped. I don’t think it is crashing nearly much (or at all really, that I can remember).

I think I still have the graphics enhancer feature enabled. But overall it is running pretty smoothly.

Thanks again for all the great advice.

    This community really rocks.
