Hello Michael,
well, if you look around almost everyone encodes/compress his QT before burning…many people told me to avoid encoding in Toast 11 as apparently is not great for this. But having said that, I will give it a try…

A question for you: when i burn in toast 11, I have issues with the menu, I am using my custom made menu and still in the DVD when the menu appears even if you add your own picture, you still have to choose a menu style, otherwise there is no menu at all. Do you know how to just see the menu you created with nothing else? couldn’t find the way to…

so solved the problem by slowing down the audio to 99.9%, but out of curiosity… where is the “pull-up pull-down setting of the sound into the DAW” you are talking about? sorry if its abvious but can’t find it..

Thanks Thomas, but this is not the same issue..mine is importing files from protools into FCP, which were exported from FCP…

I actually have another question for you…now that I had everything ready and I burned the DVD, and the film came out “jumpy”, and poor quality. I’ve been reading forums and tutorials and I am still not sure what settings I could be using to get the best quality DVD, I know is SD, and my footage is HD…but at least I know that it can look much better, as for now is jumpy and also very poor quality.
I think my problem must be on settings form final cut pro?
what I do is this:

Export Quicktime movie: Apple Pro Res 422 (2048X 1152 size), @24fps 16:9 ratio. i don’t select anything else.

I import this QT into Encore, and Project settings:
NTSC Project
codec: MPEG-2 dimensions 720X480 rate 29.97

I know my rate is different and it’s not a problem. But then I tried to use an H264 quicktime I had exported from this Apple Pro Res 422 (i USED STREAMCLIP to do it), then I used this h264 to try and burn in encore to see if it works, and now it does.
My question is, do I have to export from Final cut as H264 in order to get a better quality movie in a SD dvd?
Also, in the “Quality Presets” window, which setting should I use exactly with this H264?

I just think is a bit sTrange to be compressing my higH quality movie before I burn to Encore, doesn’t encore is already compressing my HD QT? It seems I am compressing them twice??

So before I was just doing export: audio to OMFs…

Following your suggestions:

I just tried, export: for soundtrack
but it doesn’t let me check audio only, and there is no OMFs option

then I tried send to: Soundtrack Pro audio file project

This only happens when the audio files are selected in the timeline..otherwise i don’t have the option. But then stp opens up and where are the OMFs? i just see the window with wav file and even the video…

Hi Michael,
I have my settings right then in FCP. The only thing i need to knwo now is how to export OMFs properly and with what program i can import them back into FCP in order to check that my OMFs are synced properly before I deliver them to the sound guy…

So how can i send OMFs into Sountrack Pro then?
