No—I want to KEEP the 60fps clip as a 60fps clip in a 30fps project. The 60fps is action footage, and I want that at normal speed. Everything else, or the interview, would be in 30fps. Is this even possible?

Yeah, but that frame covers a bit of the edge, which is why I’d rather make the frame disappear. And then, as you said, use the parameters instead of the mouse.

I figured out what caused the problem:

A few days ago I did something I never do, move the entire AVCHD folder from my Canon onto my external, thinking that’s faster than importing all the media via FCPX.

Well, as soon as I removed the AVCHD folder from the external hard drive, BAM, my external hard drive showed up under my Events again in FCPX.

Don’t know why that was the problem, but problem FIXED.

It’s just a workflow thing for me. SOMETHING IS ABOUT TO BE INSERTED, I WANT SPACE HERE, A NICE CLEAN BREAK, just a personal thing.

Sounds as though the gap is the way. Still haven’t used or figured out the placeholder.

Mark, you mentioned the difference in graphics cards. I’m about to buy a new MacBook Pro, upgrading from a 2009 model (NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB). Can you recommend the best card to get for Motion 5 and FCP X? Reading your above comment, I unchecked my text layers and the video was much smoother. Still, I want to prepare for intense projects in Motion
