At work we have the Kona LHi. I hope that one stays around since we’re buying CS6!
At home I have the LHe. So I guess I need a new IO card. Never ends right? I might look at BlackMagic since I’m learning Davinci Resolve and AJA cards aren’t supported for monitoring.
BlackMagic Decklink work well with CS5.5?
I hope that one stays around since we are buying CS6!
Magic Bullet Suite is supported but Colorista II has issues with the keyer and Looks just crashes Premiere. The suite is useless now. These are the two I use the most. Bummer.

I fixed my problem. I went back to a 2x 2.26 Ghz Quad-Core Intel Xeon with 16 GB ram. Well I didn’t really fix it but for some reason the newer model didn’t work with final cut pro7 and compressor. Now that I’m back to the older MacPro it all works very well. Be forwarned if you get the latest MacPro and want to use FCP7 you will have issues.

I have tried Prores 422 all HD content and DVCPro HD. All data rates crash FCP7. However non HD resolutions do work.
I’m exporting Quicktime Conversion from FCP.
Source footage is from a RAID 0, saved to system drive.
No error message just crashes FCP.Here is what is strange. We have two new Macpro 2×2.93 ghz 6-core intel xeon with 24 gb ram. Both machines are acting the same way. The other macpro is running Snow Leopard 10.6.8
I feel it must be the new hardware doing this since I did a clean install of Lion 10.7.3 and FCP 7. Not sure what to think. I know I can use compressor but would rather use Export Quicktime Conversion.I do get a crash report but its huge. If it helps figure out how to fix it I can post it.

Yes on both. I can make small H.264’s but not HD 1920×1080.

Looks like it broke FCP suite exports. I can use MPEG streamclip to create H.264’s. Not cool for workflow. I need to get this fixed.
Compressor gives this in log after failed try.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>
<services></services>More testing shows that HD resolutions are a problem. Downconverts seem to work. Very strange. I exported a ProRes 422 1920×1080 timeline with the same size and I get a general error warning.

Depends how you shoot weddings. If you are shooting it with a traditional style it would be hard since lenses are the issue. Not very affordable zooms with the range of most camcorders are available or practical for the AF-100. Unless you get an ENG lens plus a B4 adapter with power for the tally etc.
Now if your shooting it more artsy then that’s more doable. I have seen some really creative weddings shot with the AF-100.

Hit the nail right on the head. AVCHD or the what they call the pro version AVCCAM really doesn’t have a pro user base large enough to support it. Or at least pay pro prices for it.
