I’ve ran the AF-100 all day long and then some with one Dionic 90. Even supplying power to a SmallHD DP6. I don’t know about cycle life but Anton Baur could answer that one. Give them a call. I have had three for over two years and they are going strong.
I also have a SB Viper from synergistic batteries. https://synergisticbatteries.com/. It was cheaper but isn’t compatible with Anton Bauer chargers. It comes with its own and they have their own multi-charger.
Heard good things about https://www.batteries4broadcast.com/led.htm as well.
For a dock I have the Lanparte power dock. https://eriknaso.com/projects/run-your-af-100-more-with-a-power-dock/
Works well and gives a few extra ports for powering external devices as well as a HDMI port.Blog https://www.eriknaso.com

The sensor is sealed behind protective glass, which is then further sealed off by the ND filters. There is no need to ever clean the sensor.
If you get dust on your ND filters, then you’d clean them in the normal way with a puff of air and a silky smooth brush.

The new Lumix G X 12-35 f2.8 is a great lens for handheld close proximity shooting. The range is equivalent to 24-70 on a 35mm camera. A very popular lens for Nikon and Canon. It also has OIS and is parfocal. I have this lens and love it. It’s expensive but is the best built native Lumix lens Panasonic has made to date. I shot a few promos with it and I’m very pleased with the results.
The Breaking News spot wasn’t shot with the 12-35. I used the Lumix Pancake 20mm.I Didn’t get the lens in time for the shoot.
The Weather and Morning News spots was with the Lumix 12-35 except the shots of Jodi. The lens came while I was shooting here. Dang it!
I’m really pleased with the lens so far and can see this one being a real asset to AF-100 and GH2 users.

Go into the menu and turn of lens check. This happens when the function is set to on. The camera is looking for data from the lens and when it’s not a native lens the camera won’t respond.

The original footage is from an AF-100?
You are getting some pick up shots with a 7D?If this is the case you should be fine if your color grading the edit. They won’t match out of the camera but you can get close in post. The contrast will be greater with the 7D. It’s a hard question to answer but if that’s your only option you can make it work.

If you’er getting a killer deal go for it. I use the AF-100 for broadcast work without an external recorder with no issues. The only warning I would give you is don’t clip your highlights. They will turn an ugly yellow and that is hard to fix in post. However you shouldn’t clip them with any camera you shoot with.
My pros:
Good deal for the entire package
Thats a big plus
Will soon shoot 1080 at 60p (software upgrade correct?)
Yes
Can now get DOF that is so hot from DSLR shooters.
Micro Four Thirds gives a nice balance with shallow depth of field. Not crazy shallow like full frame cameras
Smaller than my HVX
Different lenses.
This is a blessing and a curse. It’s hard to get the AF-100 to act like a broadcast ENG type of camera. If you like the idea of primes and zooms that don’t have the range of an ENG lenses your good
Audio flexibility like my HVXMy cons:
4:2:0 color space
None issue for me. AVCHD codec is pretty solid. I push it around in post with no issues. Even green screen works fine.
Older model (upgrade soon?)
Next model won’t come out for around a year.
NOT P2! (love P2)
SD cards work fine for me and they are cheap.
AVCHD codec
Same as above.Blog https://www.eriknaso.com

Things are a little better today.
Here is what I did per tech support.
Powered down Mac and then reset the LHi by holding down the tiny black button on the card for 5 seconds while I booting the computer.
Then ran the updater in the AJA folder to update firmware.
Reboot.Audio is now working outside of premiere on the mac with no issues.
No more distorted audio but still getting complete dropout on both sequence and source. To get audio back I have to click on one or the others pane. If audio is dropped in sequence I click on source and vice versa then the audio comes back. Hopefully this will get fixed with some kind of update from either Adobe or AJA.
Thanks for the Tech support AJA!Blog https://www.eriknaso.com

Thanks for the settings however I’ve done all of them and this is what I still have problems with.
Setting system audio to Line Out results with no audio output from my Mac Pro outside of Premiere Pro. Websites, movie clips audio files all playback with no audio.
Still getting dropout in Premiere Pro.

I tested the audio after reinstalling the AJA software and it’s still bad. Lots of dropout and back to no audio output outside of Premiere when the program is open. I have to quite Premiere Pro to get audio from a movie or anything with sound. This is frustrating and I can’t edit like this today.
