    Hi,

Is there an application like Sony’s clipbrowser for managing AVCCAM (AF101) media. The scenario is that I’ve had a heavy week of shooting and whilst I’ve been offloading to my nexto I haven’t had the chance to then copy the media onto other drives so I’ve hung on to the clips on the SD cards.

I’ve been working on a couple of different projects and I’ve had to spill media from both projects onto the same card. So what I’d like to do is do what I could do with clipbrowser and pick the clips I want from the card to make a new virtual volume on my HD, is this possible?

    Many thanks

If you are on a Mac Shotput will give you some of the features of ClipBrowser, but if you are on a Windows platform I’m not aware of anything out there. I’ve had an AF100 for about a year, and while there is much to love about this little camera, clip management is not in that category.

Panasonic’s utility, AVCCAM viewer is, well, pathetic in comparison with Clip Browser. It’s clumsy, complicated, and in my experience capable of very little.

The best I think you can hope for here is an NLE that will let you pick and choose clips to import into your project.

Agree 100% Patrick. I have the same issue with AVCCAM Viewer software. Most of the time the AVCCAM software gives errors so it renders its self useless.
If only Panasonic had implemented the same P2 viewer software for AVCHD that would be great. With more AVCHD cameras out now you would think a better solution would be available.
