Contact your vendor. Adobe has changed the policy a bit. They had an early push that required you to update to CS5.5 or NO CS6 upgrade was possible. Now, Adobe has removed that limitation. In other words, your vendor should get you CS6 for free.

I don’t think AE CS6 has shipped yet(I could be wrong, but it does not appear to be running on my computer the last time I looked). There is still time to get it included with the software release. Looks like Imagineer did get the features ready in time after all! Hooray!

Actually AJA told me that the LHe was EOL’d. They said there would be no more updates for that card and that I was free to buy a new LHi or LHe Plus from them, if I so desired. Thanks AJA! )

Good luck on de-verbing. About the only thing that will be helpful from me is to just find the most “verbed” khz range with a peaked parametric eq-sweep technique. Then pull it down just a bit. Audio recorded with verb tends to keep the verb.

Audition is perfect for audio restoration. We used Audition to remove tweeting birds from a vo(must have been in the studio vents?). Spectrum analysis/noise removal. Worked a charm. Will not hire studio again…

Pro Tools??? Skip it, Avid will charge you an arm and a leg to get to the point Audition is at(integrated with Premiere). Does it even have native noise reduction at the spectrum level? Pro Tools doesn’t even import OMF’s without a $1000 plug-in.

Skip the 3930k chip or any Sandy Bridge e chip. Intel have taken off the video portion of the chip that allows Quick Sync! Well, I wonder why they would do that?

Well, there is “Native” h.264 accelerated encoding on ALL newer i5, i7 chips. It’s there just not opened for us by Apple/Adobe. The speed increase is nothing short of phenomenal by ANY Cuda card. The quality would be great for project updates. I would, however, resort to a slower/better encode for final delivery if quality was not up to par. The speed from Quick Sync would be a game changer for quick client approval.

I may have to check out a new 3930k windows 7 box. Hmmm, GTX card for Cuda and Quick Sync for quicky h.264.

Any comments on the less than stellar review of Cuda h.264 encoding vs Quick Sync h.264?

The article describes that Apple IS using Quick Sync but only in Facetime. So…is it an an Apple thing or an Adobe thing?

Not really, it’s both Apple and Adobe. The code is in i5 and i7 chips already, Adobe could directly access the chip at it’s base level, just sayin’.
