I agree. It means a huge number of extra clicks since I use this all the time.
Sure, I can draw a lasso or shift-select the keyframes, but the old funcionality is still lost.
And I can’t understand why AVID didn’t make this a selectable option – adding new ways of working for those who want it while keeping the old ways for us who don’t.

    Thanks Michael.
    That’s what I thought.
Luckily we will upgrade to MC7 in about a month so everything will probably be alright by then.

  • Have you tried to create a new project and importing the problem project into that one?

Well… DVDs are protected to prevent them from being ripped so…

I don’t know how you would do that, but if you or your client have the rights for the content, you certainly would be able to find the material unprotected.

Mpeg Streamclip will do it for you.

It won’t read a copy protected dvd, but everything else would be ok.

    Good luck!

How do you get that to work? I can’t make XDCAM Transfer read AVID .mxf files.
    Could you please tell us?

An easy way to enter trim mode is to select the cut with the ALT modifier key pressed. That way You can limit your selection to a single track without having to activate or deactivate tracks.
The ALT key is also perfect for selecting large chunks of clips in segment mode.

And as others have said before: practice!
The most difficult thing isn’t really learning a new system, it’s the going back and forth that can be a bit confusing.

    Cheers!
