Currently looking at this one:

Tandberg Data 8698-RDX

Its USB 3.0.

Since there are no advantages in I/O speeds, Thunderbolt 1 or 2 dont matter.

Or am I wrong?

On Mac always Apple extended and a MS (older red bottom) Optical.
I havent had to same feel with newer MS but I think Im due to try other brands.
I used an old SGI mouse from my O2/Octane days on my PCs for as long as they clicked.
I miss the original three button mouse.
I spend a lifetime in Maya/Softimage got so used to it.
Never did like the scroll.

Im reading that you need a DX to Thunderbolt 2 connector.

No support for chassis or am I missing something?

Keep in mind the DX will not let you output 4K according to sources.

Any of you folks running it with a Nitris DX?

And if you are, I take it your not using a nMP.

Its funny they mention the Nitris DX in the product page.
I was told that this unit will not work on any Thunderbolt chassis.
I asked tech support if it’ll ever happen and he wasn’t positive about it.
So we ended up replacing it with an UltraStudio 4K.

Is this the only option for Premiere Pro CC 2014?

I had to check in due to others asking where it is.

I’ve never had to do this in Premiere and wondering what other options for using Audio as sync option.

Plural Eyes dont work for me since Im dealing with R3D files.

I went ahead and redid the whole R3D set using the sub-frame option in FCPX.
After a few of these crazy workflows, I have to say that FCPX is a breath of fresh air compared to Avid and Premiere.
Just the fact that I can navigate in FCPX during playback is gold.
I have a list of things that I wish Avid would implement but they have their own crap to deal with 😛

Got me a Miller Solo and Compass 25 for my Scarlet gear.

Now I wish I had a tripod with mid/ground spreader.

Not cheap if your going carbon.

The Solo is not safe for most film set type set-ups.

Great if your out and about but lightweight.

I am still a big fan of Sachtler though.

I also had a short stint with the SECCED which is a knock-off (Sachtler).

Not bad if for the price but I couldnt get past the knock-off feeling.

Same feeling back in the day (in my parts) when Meridien Avid was holding its own.

With the cheaper FCP then FCP Studio released, a ton of shops in my parts hung on to the stable un-updated Avid MC w/Meridien.

Took awhile for them to finally move on into Nitris.
