Finally installed the unit in our studio.
Way too busy past few weeks and now we find latency issues with the HDMI to our Sony 4K display.

Ive given up on specs years ago with this error.
This time around it was audio plug-ins from Sonnox that caused the mess.
As usual were behind on the project so really no time to tinker with specifics.

I still use both Macs as well as my older PCs.

I dont get the whole angst over the differences.

I mean I still wish I had my Onyx 2 with Alias Power Animator but life goes on 🙂

Do a precomp with the grunge lines travelling in desire direction.
Then do a series of distort functions to create each movement.
The example you sent is Anime and most cases its always fast and slight of hand trickery.

This box dropped at the wrong time for me.
Basically putting out fires and starting new ones in other aspects of my job.
So far all I can tell you folks is that I got to playback a UHD project from Avid MC 8.4 in 10bit mode using an LG 31″ as display.
The setup at the moment on my bench test follows:

MacPro D500/16GB/512GB
GTECH GRAID TB 12TB
Apple 27″
LG 31MU97
Avid 8.4
BM Desktop 10.5.x

Love the article 🙂

Glad too see others using the same workflow as I am.

Im not cutting any features with FCPX at the moment but are handling two for color and adr/master.

Since it was my RED camera and I was responsible for dailies and data, the workflow with FCPX, RCX to Resolve/Pro Tools has been helpful to the end users which are Avid/Premiere 😛

Ill save the rants for another post 🙂

I’ve been working in RED eco for seven years as well as XDCAM for ten.
This DSLR workflow has been a pain and will avoid it from this day on.
I don’t miss the analogue days but at least you had some control.
