The tag has python code that you can save as a preset or whatever.</p>
<p>Just import the first file in an alembic file sequence and move the tag onto the object.</p>
<p>MAKE SURE that the file sequence has absolutely no padding for the numbers.  The number must start at 0.abc and not 00.abc or&hellip;</p>

<p>Let me know if you need it, too.  It is fairly easy to use.</p>

<p>The only thing is, if my sequence is like 200 frames, then I don&#8217;t want to have to keyframe all frames to appear at the appropriate frame in the timeline.</p>
<p>I thought there would be a way to import the sequence and have it run as one file.</p>
<p>For Arnold in C4D, there is a Arnold Procedural object that can load the alembic sequence by&hellip;</p>

<p>I really thought I needed to use Arnold Volume for Arnold render, but this works just fine.,</p>
<p>I don&#8217;t need alembic or USD or anything.,</p>

<p>I have tried using apps to stitch them, because I read that it needs to be imported as a single abc file, but I haven&#8217;t found a way that works.</p>

<p>I tried to cache the files and import into C4D 2026, however, the image sequence does not import as one, but rather it only imports the first file I select.</p>

<p>It is a mixamo character with a skin tag on the geometry.</p>
<p>When I use the surface deformer, it floats about an inch or more above the actual surface, with no way to adjust it in the deformer settings.</p>
<p>I used the shrink wrap deformer to achieve this in the photo.</p>

<p>If yours attaches and moves with the character with NO huge gap between the geometries, I would appreciate sharing the scene or which version you have.</p>

<p>I have seen tutorials that have it work perfectly onto cloth objects.  The mixamo character is not cloth, but it shouls work the same.</p>
<p>Maybe ill just make it a cloth object with mix animation to pins and see if that works.</p>

<p>It almost works, except there is a perpetual 1 inch gap between the plane and character geometry with no way to offset it closer.</p>
<p>I can&#8217;t find any other settings that could help.</p>
<p>Anyone have advice?</p>

<p>You can see what happens to my cursor when I mouse over the layer.</p>
<p>It can&#8217;t be selected.</p>
<p>It is inside a composition that is an AEC file from C4D.  So all the other layers are 3D, however, nothing like this happened with the other 5 AEC file compositions I have already used.  I just tried the next AEC&hellip;</p>

<p>What I was doing was dragging it straight onto the timeline and trying to shift drag it directly beside a layer, which wasn&#8217;t working.</p>

<p>I don&#8217;t want to waste time zooming in with so many layers, and I don&#8217;t like wasting a single frame.</p>

<p>I&#8217;m wondering now if I need to either set the Cloner Object to apply to the particle group as well, or maybe I&#8217;ll try arnold scatter on the particle group.</p>

<p>I know I could always do this with the legacy emitter and a cloner, but I cannot do it with the mesh emitter.  I tried using a matrix object first and then cloning onto the matrix, but nothing I do seems to render&hellip;</p>

<p>I didn&#8217;t realize distance made that much difference.</p>
<p>I had a scene in space where the Earth was at the centre and distance was far to make it appear correct size. </p>
<p>C4D should give a warning like it does for low pyro resolution or high poly count for sims.</p>

<p>My objects were about 10 km from the origin point of my scene.</p>
<p>Apparently, the simulations completely fall apart if the objects are far away from the origin.</p>
<p>I now have no issues.</p>

<p>I have a single point weighted to 100% vertex map for the tearing map, and I set the tear past % to 102 so it actually tears.  The only issue is that the simulation completely breaks and crashes C4D.</p>

<p>Also, as far as I know, there is no way to use a vertex map to control where emission occurs.  Only polygon or point selection tags can be added to the emission restriction.</p>

<p>It doesn&#8217;t emit from surface, points, even when the polygon count is high.<br />Every particle just emits from the exact center of the object regardless if it is a 3D cube or a plane object.</p>

<p>I think maybe the default distribution just needs to be changed for some reason to get it all to work.</p>

However, the rope now doesn&#8217;t bend as all.  It&#8217;s just a completely stiff rope that moves around &#8216;correctly&#8217; but doesn&#8217;t bend or curve at all like a rope would.  The rope just changes length completely dependently on how far the cube is from the other&hellip;</p>

The object just falls down not attached to the rope at all.</p>

<p>I opened your file in C4D 2024.5.0 and it works perfectly as in your video.</p>
<p>That confirms it.  Maxon broke the simulation system in 2025.</p>

A deformer would be very limiting.</p>

<p>I am trying to direct the rope with mix animation on the cloth object set to &#8216;with pins&#8217; enabled.</p>
<p>This allows me to move the end of the rope&hellip;</p>

<p>That video is interesting.  I wasn&#8217;t trying to use geometry glue, though, but just the connector object to break voronoi fracture using dynamics.</p>
<p>I am actually able to use the legacy connector built into the voronoi fracture.  It does allow for weight maps using fields.</p>
<p>It isn&#8217;t quite what I wanted to use.</p>

<p>I want to test the break property with mograph selection to only have breaking of the connector pieces of the voronoi fracture on certain parts, either using a mograph selection tag or a field.</p>
