    I am trying to get the Mesh Emitter to emit from literally anything except the center of the object axis.

    It doesn’t emit from surface, points, even when the polygon count is high.
    Every particle just emits from the exact center of the object regardless if it is a 3D cube or a plane object.

    Is this a bug or does anyone else have this?
    I have 2025.0.2

    EDIT:
    It must be a bug with my scene file.

    I tried opening it again and it won’t work with mesh emitters.

    But a new scene file has working mesh emitters.

    It is a scene I have started back in the 2024 version of C4D, so maybe I can try to copy every object into a brand new 2025 scene file and see if it works.

    EDIT 2:
    Nope, didn’t work. Not sure what would fix this.

    Hi Eric,

    This is a new particle system that appeared with the 2024 release, but the information about it seems scarce, I did not find tutorials about it on Maxon channels, although there is tutorials about doing the same thing in other ways, such as the Vertex Maps, this may be evidence that this tool has not yet stabilized and that it still needs development or something like that, however, there are ways to do the same thing and they work on different versions, I have attached a file for one of the methods, I hope it fulfills the purpose you are looking for.

    Thanks. I’ll see if I can figure it out.

    Also, as far as I know, there is no way to use a vertex map to control where emission occurs. Only polygon or point selection tags can be added to the emission restriction.

    You are absolutely right about Vertex Maps, however there are tutorials of other methods that seem more flexible.
