«or to an incompatible (old) QuickTime component»

    Man, oh, man…
    it seems to be it…

2 components left in Qt Library, so Media 100 could run :
    Media100HD.component
    Media100.component

Export Dialog opens up… export is successful!

Maybe newer Qt tends to make some components obsolete.
    I’ll find the black sheep.

    thanks Floh

Good idea, it’s worth trying, I guess.

The thing is, the only (recent) change to my config camewith Software Update with new Security OS patch and Qt7.6.9 update. Before this everything was fine.

    Anyway, I’ll share back…

«I worked today with QuickTime 7.6.9 on OSX 10.5.8 without issues. Seems to work so far…»

    Floh,

    What’s your Media 100 version?

Apparently, I have a problem on 10.5.8 with Suite 1.1.3 and Qt 7.6.9!!!

My issue concerns mainly (only?) the Export File (from a Bin, Program or even from Edit Suite).
Basically, it does not even open the Export File Dialog, and Crashes right there (Unexpected Quit).
    Trying to reach Qt 7.6.9?

I went through troubleshooting everything… I’ve been able to resolve my problem going to another drive that still had Qt 7.6.6.

I’m still working on this, i’m looking for a solution to uninstall 7.6.9 and reinstall 7.6.6.

    January 4, 2011 at 7:26 pm in reply to: media 100 i 8.2.3

I think v8.2.3 and the key is all i need.
I have the p6000 and the SDI card.

There’s no such thing as The Key…
the serial-key you need has to be given by Media 100 since it’s based on the board serial number.

The way I understand this, everything should be compatible …. Y/N?

If you’re properly registered with Media 100, they probably could provide the key – based on your serial/customer number. Otherwise you have a problem, or you can stick to 7.5 – you have the key for 7.5, right?

If I’m wrong, then I would also need the p6000.
I can do paypal, credit card or whatever your choic
    e!

Well, as I said the cheaper it to work on OS 9.2with your v7 -some G4 used to work with both OS9 and OSX dual boot or something…

Otherwise I have Boards for Sale

    PM me for more details

December 21, 2010 at 3:50 pm in reply to: Media 100 Conform

try to export it (Pro Res), if it succeeds work with it by re-importing in M100 (fast import)

Maybe you have different sources in your timeline like interlace and or progressive and sometimes it may give you trouble…

Anyway you won’t get good quality by conforming in M100.
I always export the program – pro res 4:2:2 (HQ) – with its native specs and downconvert with MPEG Streamclip as a SD Pro Res 4:2:2 file.

    16 x 9 but whenever I export anything it creates a 4×3 movie

is this 4×3 movie looking squeezed horizontally? (Or streched vertically?)
If so, it’s normal since you’re outputting an anamorphic 16×9 movie.

If you want it to look “normal” on a computer screen, output to 16×9 with these dimensions :

    PAL 1024×576
    NTSC 854×480
    NTSC 864×486

I was disappointed with the poor aliasing quality (maybe I need to do some more tests?). I found that the QT scaler was much smoother.

Just be aware that interlacing matters.
When you playback on computer monitor, interlacing is very noticeable and you want to make your movies progressive. Usually HD native formats are upperfield first in the NTSC world (not sure PAL), that’s why you need to deal with deinterlacer options , especially if you will deliver a file that will be used by other editors. Maybe thats where you see poor anti aliasing, which could simply be a deinterlacing issue.

So, unless you go directly to tape – master to tape – you’ll always have , I believe, to consider deinterlacing. We see a lot of bad stuff on the internet because of that.
