QuickTime 7.5.9 Update
Posted by Ken Boyer on December 8, 2010 at 5:00 pm“Software Update” tells me there is a new QuickTime update, to version 7.6.9. Oh, joy.
Has M100 given its blessing to the new version? We are on Media100 Suite, v. 1.3.3

December 8, 2010 at 11:29 pmWhat’s the big deal, why so keen for a new version of QT? Aren’t your numbers a bit mixed up, I’m on QT 7.6.6 I think with Media 100 1.5.

December 8, 2010 at 11:45 pmOops! You’re right…QT 7.6.9 (missed the 6 key).
No immediate need for the QT update. But Apple has a way of making you update eventually, so I figure I’d see what M100 has to say. Trying to avoid the 7.5.5 disaster from a few years back.

Floh,
What’s your Media 100 version?
Apparently, I have a problem on 10.5.8 with Suite 1.1.3 and Qt 7.6.9!!!
My issue concerns mainly (only?) the Export File (from a Bin, Program or even from Edit Suite).
Basically, it does not even open the Export File Dialog, and Crashes right there (Unexpected Quit).
Trying to reach Qt 7.6.9?I went through troubleshooting everything… I’ve been able to resolve my problem going to another drive that still had Qt 7.6.6.
I’m still working on this, i’m looking for a solution to uninstall 7.6.9 and reinstall 7.6.6.

Suite 1.7 on OSX 10.5.8

This could be related to QuickTime 7.6.9, or to an incompatible (old) QuickTime component. Go to your Library->QuickTime folder and have a look inside. Anything unusually there? You could move all the files to the Desktop, and then try to export again. If your system does not crash, then move back the files in small groups and look where Media 100 starts to crash. Most likely there is some pretty old component hanging around in your Qucktime folder causing this.

January 20, 2011 at 6:17 pmGood idea, it’s worth trying, I guess.
The thing is, the only (recent) change to my config camewith Software Update with new Security OS patch and Qt7.6.9 update. Before this everything was fine.
Anyway, I’ll share back…

Man, oh, man…
it seems to be it…2 components left in Qt Library, so Media 100 could run :
Media100HD.component
Media100.componentExport Dialog opens up… export is successful!
Maybe newer Qt tends to make some components obsolete.
I’ll find the black sheep.thanks Floh

Export File Crash topic
brought up in this Forum by Gregg Michaels on Jan. 28 2010.Media 100 found out about SMIQuickTimeExportComponent.component causing a problem.
Today I can reconfirm this.

Good to know that you are back up and running (or exporting).
