Unlike editing, DVD is pretty much a black and white technology which hasn’t changed since its conception 20 years ago so there’s really not a whole lot that needs to be changed in DVDSP other than some tweaks to some of its workflows. Pre-mastering could be better is one that comes to mind.

You would create 2 separate menus. Professional authors and designers do this all the time.

Please dont double post. I thought your question was answered in the DVD authoring forum? You’ll need to construct an .scc file with a captioning tool.

Sorry,,,its been years that ive done this and it worked fine for a large project we had to do in NTSC and PAL. Here’s the doom guide I used. You do need to change everything:

Not every instance …just the scenerio setting. Once you have all new file paths in a PAL project everything will be changed.

Yep…thats it. Good thing its possible to get that file….CC construction is not fun (for me anyway) If you have problems its best to post in the Encore forum.

Not every player will play BD-R. Also depends if the client’s client has current updates on the player. Are this discs you burned personally and tested? In fact, who is this person saying your discs dont work and are they smart enough to know to play them in a BD player? – Ha Ha
This is a common problem with burned BD-Rs and just sending them out willy nilly to whomever. DVD was the same way in the early days. its always important to let the client know that BD-R is not 100% compatible.
Find out the player and make sure they have current firmware updates and go from there.

MPEG 2 video is 720×480 so CC will not carry over. You need to manually build the CC files yourself in a captioning tool.

Export out a script and open it with any text editor and look towards the top of the XML and You’ll see the NTSC/PAL switches. Change to PAL and save. Import that script into Scenarist and change the file paths for your new PAL assets and build.
Unless the title is really complex I would just start over with a new scenario but thats just me
