Well there are ways to bypass having the pause between an intro and the menu. I always create the intro and the menu as one piece then adjust the point where i want my 8bit overlay to appear. There’s no break in audio and its all nicely contained in one portion on the disc. Unfortunately i dont think Encore allows you to adjust the appearance of your button….could be but i dont use Encore

Player seek times vary from player to player. I only wish players would be the same across, the board. It would my make peoples lives, who produced DVDs, much easier 🙂
Going to replication wont fix this issue. Is it this way on all players youve tested?

Replication is physically pressing a discs while duplication is burning discs. The difference is the amount of reflectivity in the pits and lands.
The discs you will be making are 720×480 16×9 anamorphic. They will need to be encoded with the 16×9 flag set as well.
When you deliver to a replicator, you will need to supply DDP image files. See the manual on how to export these out of Encore.
The AUDIO_TS is basically useless. Its was intended for the DVD-AUDIO format which fizzled out years ago.

Yes….always use Compressor. DVDSP uses QT’s encoding engine plus you get more control over different settings with Compressor.
BTW….In the world of professional DVD production, Compressor is considered a joke. There are free encoding tools which do a better job with a little skill

I just did a google on “SRT subtitles to Encore conversion” and must have found at least 10 tutorials and tools for this. Have you tried any?
