Tools used to author titles for replication start around 4k and go up to 50k.

Also there are too many pitfalls and rules that go into producing a title that I wouldn’t suggest going it alone unless you’ve done your homework.

Lots of embarrassed producers out there who think BD is just like DVD and end up loosing time and money on a project that was doomed from the get go.

Start with books like Blu Ray Demystified and go from there. 🙂

FCP 7 will be used for several years down the road as well.

I say learn and know X but dont rely on it getting you work. If it takes off in the professional world you’ll be ready.

Are you sending to a replicator? If so you need to send a BDCMF image and DVDA does not allow that. Only professional authoring systems allow that. You dont want to be using DVDA for a title for mass distributions.

    What is your end product?

  • You can’t
DVD only support 8 bit button overlays.

Apple is chasing the $…thats all. There’s no money to be made in a SINGLE NLE and its support hardware.

Not sure if you received the memo but FCP Studio is a thing of the past….it wont be used at all….very soon in fact 🙂 sucks but thats the ropes

If he’s already given you your encoded stream why are you worried about settings? What you need is the uncompressed original file and encode yourself

May 22, 2012 at 6:34 pm in reply to: Encore CS4 encodes HD as SD in Flash?

Yes….DVD is 720×480 16×9 Anamorphic so the Flash Project you make out of Encore will be the same. Maybe someone else will chime in on why one is 4×3 and one is 16×9? Encore is a very buggy tool and DVD to Flash conversion is not a good workflow. wish I had a better answer

Use Flash to make a Flash project. I think Adobe just included that option to make proofing easy for clients….its not designed to make full fledged Flash Projects…..Thats what Flash is for 🙂
