Yes….it will play
PAL land players play all framerates….it’s only the US players that don’t
I had a project from Australia that was shot 25i and the client needed it to play worldwide. I had to convert everything to 29.97. Next time I made sure they shot 23.98 🙂

Make it NTSC and encode 23.98

There is no NTSC/PAL in BD. what frame rate did you shoot? Here are the specs:
High Definition Video (frame size x frame rate x interlaced or progressive) (frame aspect ratio)

It’s a DVD with an AVCHD build on it is all. It should be a blueish purple on the bottom.

Not sure if you have access to a PC but Ive been using a various of this workflow for several years and it beats or, at least, equals any hardware converter….and its all free
Hardware conversions are mostly a tape to tape workflow anyway.

All depends on your final destination or what the client wants but if your final destination is DVD ALWAYS shoot 23.98

No….Encore doesn’t provide scripting.
Why go over to Encore? DVDSP is a much more advanced authoring tool. It will always work fine even with Apple decisions not to support FCP Studio

DVDA doesn’t provide any scripting capabilities which is what would be required to provide the amount of possible combinations for 8 tracks
