cost – hm… 🙂 ”What does this mean? The best price on a Meastro system I’ve seen was around $1500.00…The Scenarist? Around $6000.00
Now since he was asking a such a simple authoring question I would have to assume he wasn’t instrested in spending thousands of dollars….right? I’m sure you know what I’m talking about since you obviously have spent several thousand dollars for your gear 🙂
Or…have you confused this site with http://www.videohelp.com ??

No real changes on the subject. I understand someone burned a DL Red laser HD disc with DVDSP and it played on a Toshiba with the new firmware updates buts thats it.

Why would Meastro be the best choice? Let’s not send the guy in some crazy direction. I don’t think he’s intrested in spending hundreds/thousands of dollars on some sencond hand authoring system which isn’t supported anymore…not to mention the price of the Scenarist :):)

Nope…DVDSP doesn’t support the new burners yet. You can burn a Red Laser disc using the HD-DVD format with DVDSP but they have had problems with the new Toshiba update plus your limited on space.
HD DVD (Blu Ray /HDDVD)is not available yet to general professionals like you or me…so hang on – it will come soon enough …maybe :):)

There is no “best”. But like Pierre said it depends on your knowledge of DVD authoring in general. Try them out – see which one is best for you

Its pretty accurate…
I would use CBR if space is not an issue. That encoder doesn’t output AC3 audio – you need an outboard AC3 encoder – Don’t get me wrong, but you spent $ 2000.00 on that encoder – doesn’t it come with any support? Will you be doing alot of DVD work in the future? 🙂

What do mean by interactive? Do you need a disc to play on a computer or a set top player? Or both? title authored in Director will give you a DVD-ROM which will not play back in a set top player. But will give you functional interactivity
