I’d say yes..if you don’t have a scop[e then go with what looks good to yours/client’s eye.

You’ll need to adjust blacks before your encode. Do you have a waveform? Is this on a DVCPRO50 Tape?

Which encoder did you use. Try a CBR encode (Constant Bitrate) around 6.3 and re-build – see if that plays on your Denon.

Is this a VBR encode or a CBR encode? What kind of media are you using? Does the problem on the Denon occur in the same spot everytime? Have you tried another burn to see if the same error occurs?

Yes & No – The MPEG2 specs for DVD only supports 29.97 (NTSC) but a 24P source encoded with the progressive flags ON does produce a 24p DVD.

Time and Bitrate are both important factors to remember. The longer the time, the smaller the bitrate you need to fit onto a 4.7G DVD-5 or a 7.95G DVD-9.
As Frippy so elogantly replied, you would need a very low bitrate to fit this much video on a disc. So low it will look very poor.

Well..there are more apps for authoring DVDs on the PC side but DVDSP packs more features than anything on the PC side with the exception of some ” high end” platforms some use. If your talking about using DVD weblinks in your title you must use a 3rd party application like eDVD or DVDAccess (which is built into DVDSP).
Authoring apps just author a disc according to the Spec. Another app is use to enable web access using your authored title. Make sense ? 🙂
If your using DVDSP stick with that then use a app like eDVD to enable web access. There is a tutorial on the Cow somewhere

For Macs, DVDSP is pretty much it. For web links you can use Sonic’s eDVD which works great or there’s another application available but I cant remember the name – I hope someone else can lend a hand here.
A thing to remember though – The DVD spec was designed without the web in mind so there will be incompatibilities with this kind of authoring.
eDVD uses Interactual Player – which most newer PC have and will most likely self install but Mac users will have to manually install it
