    Yes

You would need a script. Lets say you have 10 chapters – Something like:

    1. GPRM0 ran 1,10 – this generates a number between 1 & 10
    2. Jump Chapter/Story 1 if GPRM0= 1
    2 Jump Chapter/Story 2 if GPRM0= 2
    2 Jump Chapter/Story 3 if GPRM0= 3
    2 Jump Chapter/Story 4 if GPRM0= 4
    2 Jump Chapter/Story 5 if GPRM0= 5
    2 Jump Chapter/Story 6 if GPRM0= 6

    and so on….

What I would do is make each chapter its own story, then link your stories to this script after it plays. The only problem here would be that the player may play the same story/chapter back to back depending on the number that is chosen by the player. To get around this you’d have to track which story or chapter has played with another GPRM then route “around” it.

BitVice is great. The only thing I could conplain about is it’s speed. It’s fine to run overnight but when I’m rushed, it can be a pain.

I’m running a dual 1.25 G4 but I hear its alot faster with the G5s.

  • I’m I guess it all depends on how much work you have at the time and how much you think your worth. I’m freelance as well and I’ll charge anywhere from $350-450/day to $90.00 / hour. I just finished a disc similar to your. $2800.00 was the total. Remember, your freelance – you have a right to charge more than an hourly employee. Your stuff is great – I’d say $50.00/hr – thats what the guy who changes my brakes charges me 🙂

  • You did all those menus and your asking us how much to charge!? 🙂

What did you charge for the stuff you’ve already done? $25.00 is super cheap and your obviously better than that!

What ever you do don’t lower your rates just to get a gig…period 🙂

Personally I think DVD-Lab Pro is the best tool on the PC side. What kind of patches are you looking for.

Low productions values???? Those Bastards!! 🙂 Were they talking about the video quality or the value of the actual production.

Did you use the encoder that comes with Premier? You could think about trying a better encoder for sure. Also 5.5 is a little low for a software encoder. You said you used VBR? What were your exact settings – Avg , Low, Peak. Have you ever considered using a CBR mode at around 6.5 – this will fit almost 1 1/2 hours of video.

Basically you need to match your source’s field order in the encoder

Your problem is that you set your QT to “Upper Field First”. Change this to Lower field dominate and re-encode – you should be good to go.
