Lets say you set your players levels are set to PG-13. You could do something like:
GPRM, SPRM 13
Jump Menu x if GPRM < /= 4 Jump Menu y if GPRM > /= 5Menus x can be your main menu which allows access to the disc because your level is PG-13 and below and also assumes you set your player to PG-13 or below
Menu y can say something like “Sorry, this disc cannot be accessed based on current parental settings” because 5 and above is Rated R and up (actually 6 is R rated)
Like all programming, there are a millions ways to do this and this is a simple example. Remember, it depends on the players settings. Also no one sets their parental levels on there players anyway so unless its for personal use – its worthless. I also may be wrong but I dont think this is a required player manufacturing requirement either. In a nutshell – WASTE of time 🙂

It depends on many things. Which encoder are you using? How clean is your source footage. Do you plan on using AC3 audio or uncompressed? How many minutues total (with extras) do you want to put on? in other words, there no exact recipe…if it looks good then your golden.
For 82 minutes, you can easily get this onto DVD-5 with a decent encoder. Basically you should follow the calulator and go from there. I use an encoder which, I feel gives decent (ie: passable) results at 2-3mb/s but most prosumer encoders will give bad results. I say keep 4-5 mb/s your lowest you want to go with one of those encoders.

This image is native 4×3. Why are you making it anamorphic 16×9?

The DVD spec was designed waaay before the net. The two are like oil and water really. There were supported third party apps like eDVD which used to do things like this but with newer OS setups they just aren’t reliable.
The only thing to do in this situation (IMO) is design a menu which explains where in the ROM section that HTML link will be or give the web url so the user can go there.

Also remember you have a 1gig limit in the menu domain.

OT: I have a video tutorial coming out for Do Studio you will like: “Designing Menus Manually for DSA”. That Mosiac tool is cool and all but I think its much easier to drag and drop your buttons onto the layout.

I know…call me crazy! I’ve never given a client a 1440 encode and I never will at this point. I’m using Cinevision for the encoding. 1440 is perfectly legal but I’ll stick with 1920×1080. Besides my menu designs will need to be different….Im a creature of habit. 🙂

Thanks…Yeah….I thought of that but Im going to keep the status duo on blu ray 🙂 I think I only know of 2 titles that are 1440×1080. My new export looks fine now.

Thanks guys! I’m not worried about playback but I can see those jump cuts as I slowing frame through the file I have so I know they are there. This is the second time around on this export. Thought the first time was just some hiccup. I’m at the client’s office who as no space left on his system. My thoughts were to export to a USB 2.0 and take it back to my place to encode.
This is to be encoded for Blu Ray so I need a 1920×1080 file uncompressed. If I export out as “current settings” wont the file still be HDV 1080i60 1440×1080??
