You really need to learn this function–Highlight a piece of video in your timeline, then type the numbers 500 (or any number). What pops up is a small window called “move”. Every once in a while it freezes, reads 593000, then no longer functions until reboot. Prefs have nada to do with it.

Thanks for the reply, but I’ve already mapped tons of filter favorites, and I use dragging from the FX folder as my main method. I use a lot of different filters, though, and I’m looking for a way to make it even easier than dragging.
Probably not doable–wish a code/applescript guru would chime in though… -
what codec should i use then to view p2 720p60 w/ 23.98 timebase? Im using BM 720 59.94 8 bit right now…

Just got off phone w/ Panny tech, and it looks like some of the hpx 500 cameras have bad connectors to one or possibly multiple slots. This could go bad at any time. OUCH…Turnaround is about a week on them, so that isn’t too bad, and after that, the camera should be just fine.
Something to consider.

I’m not using it as my main edit suite, just a backup so I can keep working while doing a long render or export to compressor.
FCP 5 runs like a champ on the minis…they used 4 or 5 them with several g5’s to edit the movie zodiac.

I’ve had issues going from AE back to FCP though. After I make movie in AE, the quicktime looks great. Importing it into FCP, it looks like a 5th generation. More blurry, less reso.
