I used Font Books to check what level the font was installed at and it does not show up at all in Font Books. I checked two other edit machines, thinking it might be some obscure font I installed on my own but the font is present in FCP and Motion on both the other machines so i am assuming it’s a system font.

I used the export as .mov suggestion and was successful with what I had intended to do,but I just find this very odd and glitchy….

    Thanks for the help!

Was also wondering if it’s possible to update a version of motion older than 4? Can you update from 3 directly to 5?

I would say the easy way is to put your object on the canvas.

Then use a Paint Stroke tool to draw the path you want the object to take.

Then add a Behavior Motion – Path to object you want to animate.

Under the Behaviors tab in inspector set the Path Shape to GEOMETRY.

Then Drag the Paint Stroke of the path to the Well that pops up under the motion path behavior (the big blank rectangle).

Then you might also want to add a Snap Alignment to Motion Behavior as well so the bug “turns” with the path.

Fiddle around with the parameters till you get somethign you like.

I just did a quick and easy animation on one of the Ants from motion to test it out and it seemed to work reasonably well for the little effort I put in.

    Yup!

    RGB Mode did the trick.

    Thanks!

    Yup, that works much better.

Thanks, did not know QT had that functionality.

    Great tip!

How do you generate super black in FCP?

    Thanks for the feedback.

Most of the recording I would be doing would be short film projects and I’d be editing on FCP Studio if that helps any. Looking at the Zoom it looks like what I’d be needing with a good boom mic.

In terms of syncing, can’t you just use an old fashioned clacker?
