What are you dissolving to?(other footage, black)

Hopefully it wasn’t an orginal transfer problem. Do you still have the original p2 folders, or was it already transferred when you got it?

Can you get a little more specific as to what you’ve tried?
Have you reconnected and or recaptured your media?
Have you put a cut in a few seconds before the dissolve and tried it to dissolve again on the small tail end clip?
Have you double checked your filters?
Does your footage play normal in your viewer?

This is a rather interesting problem.

Alright… I built a dolly a little while back, and there are 2 easy ways to connect the PVC pipes… First is the fast method(when you dont have much building time and need to shoot). Get a dowel with a smaller diameter than the inside diameter of your pvc pipe. Cut it to a about a 4″ length for each connection, then gaff tape the edge, and MORE IMPORTANTLY the middle right where the connection will be. Add little bits more gaff until it fits nice and snug. The only problem with this is you have to basically fresh gaff it every time. The best method is to make a set of connector. The method of making them is best found at this link a little down the page:

Sony decks will not import canon footage… We use a Z1U and an XLH1 here… We have Sony decks and we can only import sony from them, but for canon footage we cature straight from the camera, it sucks, but it works.

    Maybe i wasn’t clear enough here…

I work for a production company as a cinematographer and editor already, i just have never used AVID… I understand production and camera workand editing(film rules, structure, etc.) I just would like to give a go at someone else’s piece, besides all of the “normal” ones that are provided with editing tutorials and things like the gunsmoke, charlie grace scenes. I was trying to use something besides those, so that not only myself, but other film students have more options and variety to learn from.

With a wife, production job, and classes it’s hard to just “go shoot” something… I have alot im already shooting for other classes and work.
