Yes 20Gbit/s is fast enough for 4K DPX if half the bandwidth is left available by other devices or R3D regardless of the devices attached. The problem is more to do with latency than bandwidth with other devices chained. Every device added to the controller increases latency. When you add that latency to other latency points especially with the GPU acceleration pipeline then realtime applications such as editors and compositors will have issues if the total latency for the pipeline exceeds what the player can handle. This is where the application troubleshooting is going to get very complicated very quickly.

Can you remove the Camtasia file and then test encode. See if the anomalies continue.

The performance with the 6 core will be significantly better. The 660Ti is faster than the 760GTX but only certain aspects are accelerated with AE. The performance in Vegas will be effected by the card choice though if you are running 12. Both Vegas and AE performance is decided by threads and ram though overall. I would suggest that be the primary concern.

Believe me I have always wondered about it myself. I have seen some sites list Gen 2 x4 correctly at 16Gbits and 2Gbytes and others 20Gbits and 2 Gbytes and as of yet I have found no explanation why.

Yes that’s what is listed for PCI-E 2.0 4x. However if you do the math 20Gbits is 2.5Gbytes and not 2Gbytes.

That means that effect is not multithreading and is single threaded only. There are still some effects that don’t multithread well or at all.

The yellow line above the timeline is normal for the MPE engine. Any supported media with the Hardware MPE engine active will have a yellow bar above the timeline. It’s the red line now that tells you that you may need to render the timeline for preview. Adobe added the option to render the Yellow line ie MPE accelerated part because some editors were experiencing poor playback and didn’t have the option to render for better preview.

Yes try the Legacy. I have not tried this myself but I was interested if it worked as an option for clients.

Did you try Exporting AAF and then import into CS6 with AAF?
