CC to CS6?
I’ve created a video for a client and they’re on CS6 still. They need a copy of the project to take on the road in case there are any last minute changes. I was able to export a FCP XML from CC, then import in CS6 and just about everything was perfect, except all the titles didn’t come through. Any workaround to make that happen? It’s not like the titler has changed.
I had some AE projects in the sequence too and they didn’t relink because they were CC as we’ll. but I was able to open them in AE and save as CS6 versions and relink.
So it’s just the pesky titles that won’t come across.. They won’t even show in AE if I export the Premiere project from Premiere to AE.

Did you try Exporting AAF and then import into CS6 with AAF?

I think so. But I think it just stalled and quit doing anything. Perhaps I’ll try it again. You’ve had success?

Just tried it again. The titles are actually recognized as titles now, but there isn’t any text within them. Double click on them and you get the titler.
But the rest is a mess. Tons of “dissolve not supported” errors. And I used lots of blending modes in the project, all of which were discarded in AAF. Set back to normal instead of screen, overlay, multiply, etc.
Should I choose the “legacy” check box on AAF export?

Yes try the Legacy. I have not tried this myself but I was interested if it worked as an option for clients.

Doesn’t work either. AAF is mainly for audio from what I see. Doesn’t seem to support the most basic of transitions or even a clip volume change. The music I used came in a full volume. As well, AAF doesn’t support any blending modes.
FCP XML is by far superior. All the modes, transitions, (but not that music volume oddly) come across. Even embedded AE projects link back up. Just no titles. Which is odd, because if I recall, you’ll at least get the raw text from an xml from FCP legacy. It’ll be the wrong font and in the wrong place but at least it’s there.
