Hi David, thank you for your response and insight. Honestly, I always thought “export” and “render” was the same thing but what you’re saying is totally right. I’m still learning new things here and there, but in this situation I just want to export my Davinci Resolve project as a master for Vimeo. I don’t know exactly which codec to use that’s best to upload for Vimeo, and how to choose the best settings for it. Also, I’m using Black Magic Pocket RAW files. And again, thank you for the response, it was actually kinda inspirational.

March 25, 2016 at 3:38 am in reply to: Is using more than one lens for video/film okay?Thank you all so much for all this much needed information. I now feel much more comfortable to just experiment with my lenses and decide for myself how I want to alter the perspectives to my liking. I also really appreciate the picture sample of different lenses before and after post production editing, that really helped a lot!
I just have one question about the zoom. I understand its considered somewhat unnatural and odd to zoom in during a shoot but can any of you explain to me in this short scene at the 1:37 mark, why it appears that the zoom in and a zoom out during this shoot seem to ”work”? or maybe its not a zoom at all but some type of special camera move or a digital zoom?

This is the link to the scene.Again, thank you all so much for the information.

December 10, 2015 at 2:14 pm in reply to: Sony Vegas and Davinci Resolve workflow with Neat VideoThe codec is AVCHD and the files are all MXF. I’m shooting with a Sony a7. If you know a good workflow from vegas to davinci that has NR before final color grading and delivery, then please explain it to me in steps if you can. Other than that I’ll also be happy to see what other suggestions there are.

December 8, 2015 at 3:11 am in reply to: Sony Vegas and Davinci Resolve workflow with Neat VideoUnfortunately it’s only a regular plug-in for vegas but yes I would need an OFX version for resolve but I don’t have the OFX. So at this point I just need to know what kind of export/render I need to use to transfer my denoised video’s or I’ll just have to face the music and buy the OFX version 🙁

November 10, 2015 at 6:29 am in reply to: FCPX/Neat Video/Resolve… To render out files or turn off?Hello John, I’m new here and I find your answer to topic question very useful, however, my situation is a little different. You see I have Neat Video only for Sony Vegas Pro 13 and I want to NR my video clips first before I transfer them to Davinci Resolve 12 Lite. The problem is that exporting my clips on Vegas as an XML file won’t carry any applied NR.
Also I tried to use XML because XML doesn’t degrade any quality during a transfer but unfortunately it won’t carry any kind of video effects.
Therefore, is there any way possible to NR my clips on Vegas and transfer them to Davinci Resolve with the NR effects still applied to them?
Thanks, Enrique
