  • You will want to go into the emitter’s properties.. click on the particle type (in this case it says “Dust”)…then go into “Size Over Life”. You will notice that it is slowly rising from 0 to 200 with numerous keyframes (creating a curve on the graph as it rises) to give it a smoother increase in size. What you want to do, to make it appear as if you are moving Out of the Dust, is make it so the Size over Life is falling over time. Just move the keyframes on the bottom to the top, and the ones on the top to the bottom basically… making it a descending curve on the graph… this will give you the desired effect. To make the effect slower or faster (as if you were moving quickly or slowly through the dust) adjust the point on the Life graph in the particle type’s properties (“Dust” again), I THINK! <-- There is probably a better way to do it than this. Alan or Elvis would know.

Wow, that’s a great idea, and so simple! I can’t believe I didn’t think of that. Thank you Alan

If you want it to be sucked “straight” back….you could just change the size over life. Start at whatever your desired beginning height is.. and then over a period of 10 or so frames (less frames if you want it faster, more if you want it to be sucked in slower) add keyframes that are descending on the Size over Life graph. That should give it the “sucked in / disappearing into the background / riding off in the distance” feel. If you’re trying to do something with a ghosting effect, it may be a little tougher to do, i’m still learning this wonderful program so perhaps one of the great guys that are very experienced with pI could help you with that.

I’m also trying to make it so only one shell is ejected, but it keeps randomly ejecting different amounts in time with the muzzle flashes (1 2 or 3 depending on the muzzle flashes) I’ve tried everything to change it, but nothing’s working.

  • I have Vegas 4.0 and VideoMach, but neither will open a PSD or RAW image file.

I believe you can import media into Macromedia Flash and embed it into the flash, making it sort of a “flash movie”…
