    Thank you!

Might just do that, but like you mentioned, it’s still going to be long.

  • Sorry I’m late, I was away.

    Here is a screen grab.

    Thanks.

  • Thanks Peter.

High iso or low iso, it’s all the same. The stripes are very apparent in the dark areas under low light conditions and they are particularly apparent in the cinestyle mode since that mode brightens the blacks.

Maybe I should mention that this is only when I’m shooting video and I haven’t noticed it when I’m shooting stills.

    Thanks again Walter.

But I’m still having my RAM problems. Doesn’t hurt that much though.

Another thing, I’m noticing slight gamma shift between ColorFinesse and AE while I’m using the REC.709 color space whereas when I have it set to none there is absolutely no shift between the two.

Might it be that the ColorFinesse isn’t using the REC.709 color space?

    Thanks again!

It´s a shame, the option “More Accurate Except RAM Preview” was already enabled. I guess 8gb RAM just isn´t enough for that matter.

    Regards.

Thank you Walter for your thorough answer.

I have one more question for you, and it’s regarding the rec709 profile. When I switch to rec709 from “none” my RAM previews won’t play back as they should. They stutter, so to speak, and don’t pick up speed whereas with my color profile set to “none” I don’t have this problem. Do you have an idea what could be causing this?

    Regards.

    Thanks Anthony.

In this case you would apply the noise to the background I assume?

I will try what you said about render out as 32bit tiff sequence, and then import to an editing app to render out as video. But I might as well re-import it to AE and render it out from there again!

Thank you both for your answers.

Robert, did you look a the snapshot I’d put in… you can see those halos around the lit area if you look at the jpg. You say, “Sometimes the light in 3d space is more trouble than good.” Well in this case I couldn’t agree with you more, but there must be a way to get around the problem.

Chris, I can’t render out my film as a tiff sequence in trillions+ in 32bits because I can’t deliver it like that to my client. I need a more manageable format!

There must be a solution to this…
