  • sometimes final cut doesn’t like the DV tapes – dropped frames and it aborts import.
I usually have better luck importing via iMovie when its shot on tapes I didn’t use.

has anyone tried to install fcs3 on a system with lion already on it? specifically a new iMac just purchased a couple weeks ago by a friend – I’m thinking about trying to partition that new drive and make it half lion and half snow leopard but it does seem that many of you are having ok luck with fcs3 running ok on Lion?

thanks and apologies if this has already been answered.
i had hoped that getting this new machine would be seamless transition wise to get right back to work on numerous projects but that has proven not easy to do – sooo much research to do first! 🙂

no message when I drop into the timeline – sequence settings are the same as the capture settings, aside from the fact that it capture settings it is a non controllable device…

Keeping in mind the footage/clip does not indicate it needs render (red line above it) – only that when I go to “render full” before exporting – it does need and takes forever to do so…and even if I just “render” it still takes at least an hour. ?

    thx!

    Hi again Andy! 🙂

After speaking with Thermaltake I am returning the docking station – long story short, they state it doesn’t work with Mac OS…

I’m looking into some RAID, something along the lines of this guy:

any thoughts or recommendations from you or anyone on the forum?
I have yet to use this set up, always used firewire 800, 400 or the USB 2.0 but now, I have started editing HD and am gonna need to step up the game.

you can’t use USB 2.0 to edit?

I also have this thermaltake unit attached to my intel iMac 10.6.3 and have been having all sorts of crazy issues with it not allowing me to unmount after a few hours of use.

and some other stuff that is confusing to me.

In the past I have used Lacie with the USB 2.0 connection without any problems.

would you suggest I move them to the correct folder? Or, are they ok in the Control/Plugins directory?
