Thank you for all the suggestions. I knew the Cow would offer up great advice.
We will be delivering a 1920 X 1280 (23.98) Sequence to the post house for color correction. The DP did a great job, it was shot on a sound stage so hopefully the end result will be a good and consistent one.
So we converted the batch of images to a smaller size, but kept them larger than the end project because there will need to be some repo’s.
Thanks Again:

yes it is 3D. you can rotate the camera around and see depth and thickness and all that.
Check out this forum – as i think i have seen someone post things similar to this, or just check out the tutorials on the Trapcode website.

It just seems like a hell of a lot of work to matte out the droplets of sweat and then tweak their color…i understand that this type of tedious work happens…..just thought their has to be a better way of doing this considering they use the technique so much …you know?

April 18, 2007 at 5:00 am in reply to: AFTER EFFECTS ERROR: Could not create 2200 x 2200 image bufferI ran into the same problem a couple of weeks ago, with a canvas size of 8700X5333. Evidently, its a lack of memory that causes the problem. Some tricks you can do that worked for me is:
Edit/Purge
Lower your Redo count.
Have no other programs running while you are in After effects.
Check your Memory/Cache info in Preferences
Crop the images in Photoshop so they are smaller in After Effects (In my case I was able to crop the image into say 4 chunks, that way I was able to keep the quality and lower the canvas size) -
Thank you. Thats really great to know. I never run other programs while I am in After Effects so doesnt seem as if buying more Memory would help the problem.

I have seen his 2 part tutorial, and unfortunately tweaked the setting in the “secret” prefs. After all of those tweaks….I was able to click my Comp to Full Res. but still got an error message when I tried to do the render cue.
I should say that when I lowered my Memory Cache to around 40% (It failed at 60) it seemed to be working, but was going to take 13 hours!
Do you not think adding memory will help?

April 8, 2007 at 12:39 am in reply to: PhotoShop File Too Big for After Effects!?!? Please HelpI will be going in pretty tight.
I should say unfortunately I have already animated the camera moves. (I used a 8720 X 5813 Jpeg as a reference) So, If I could keep all of the pixels so that I wont have to redo the camera moves that would be amazing on my end.
So, I would cut the image up into say maybe 4 sections. Do I take the sections into AfterFx as 4 separate Comps, piece them together and then PreCompose, and then use that as my main file to pan/scan with my 3D Camera? And would this make my life easier?
Thanks So Much for all of your help by the way. Its pretty amazing at how helpful you have been.

April 8, 2007 at 12:02 am in reply to: PhotoShop File Too Big for After Effects!?!? Please HelpIm bringing that huge 8720X5813 PSD into a 720X480 Comp, so I can animate the camera around it. There will not ever be a time where I need to see the entire 8720 image at once.
