It was all ProRes 422. I ended up dumping all the render files in Render Manager and re-rendering. This seems to have solved it.

Just tested- this does not happen when I choose “recompress all frames” or when I export with matching settings using Compressor.

Sometimes I’ll have 30 10-30 second clips from one event, and it’s easier to quickly scroll through them when it is merged into one clip, rather than having to select each short clip one at a time to view it

April 30, 2013 at 9:36 pm in reply to: L&T Canon C100 mono audio

So apparently AVCHD automatically mixes down on L&T no matter what, so I am thinking the best thing to do will be to edit away and once I have my timeline set, kill all the audio on track one for the whole timeline (track one is the onboard mic) and then change the pan of track two (the good mic) to 0. Any reason this isn’t the optimal solution?

    Thanks in advance!

Ben, I noticed that I have the same graphics card as you do and that IT could be the problem:

Has your workaround been successful? I did a full system wipe and am STILL having problems in Mountain Lion so my plan is to go back to Snow Leopard until I can get a new graphics card.

I am having the same problem, and logging out also seems to be the only solution. I did a re-install of FCP Studio and I’m still getting the stuttering in the viewer trying to playback ProRes files. Did you ever have any luck figuring out a solution?

October 6, 2010 at 5:22 pm in reply to: Subtitling for Web

I’m trying to find an automated way to do it since the videos will be very long and doing one title at a time will take forever. Also I just found out that these videos will only be on the web so the subtitles can be burned permanently onto the video image.

Unfortunately cleaner is all that my company has and Squeeze and Episode will give me watermarks with the free trials. Anything i can do in cleaner to speed this up? I lowered my data rate to 1000kb/s from 1500 but that doesn’t seem to make a difference.

Solution! Great joy! Dubbing from the FX1 to the DSR11 using S-Video cables did work, however dubbing using the firewire did not work. Thank you everyone for your suggestions!
