Capturing 60i fron HVR Z7U
Just looking for advice on capturing from the Sony HVR Z7u into FCP. It was shot in HDV mode 60i. Is Apple ProRes 422 the best idea?

It’s certainly not a bad idea. It partly depends on what you intend to deliver as a final product, and partly on what capabilities you have with your system as far as CPU and media drives go. Can you handle uncompressed file sizes and throughput?

i can handle uncompressed but unfortunately i have a deck that only plays out 1080i and no access to the camera. is 60i dvcam my only option?
