Thanks Dave the part I left out is I need it to be continuous, for a matrix like effect. I suppose I could do it manually and add a loop expression!

So this is years later, but I figure i’ll ask, I used this code and am still have the issue where it gets stuck. When i change to your updated code it says warning “no property or method named ’10’ and that i have an error in the 14th line –
myText[t] //This will cycle through your text once a second.when i move that text up a layer it starts counting from 0 up when animated? ha.
Thanks!

I will try the preset there is an expression one that may work… i’ll play around!
Tom, I need the words to scramble as full words, and retain their legibility, which is why i find this to be a little extra tricky! -
is there an expression do this if you needed the letters to stay in specific groups? I’m doing a similar project but the letters need to stay spelling words with spaces.

yeah except i’d prefer if they transitioned a bit more smoothly than that

can you clarify this part: “If I want to apply a plugin to the whole cut, I create a new Sequence In PPro, bring in my first sequence (my edit) in it. It comes in as a clip that can then be sent to AE for fx. I can still change the cut inside the first sequence if I need to.”
Can you also explain what you would be copying and pasting settings for?
I’m sort of new at this but really would like to understand. I appreciate your patience 🙂

Thank you! So simple really…. sigh. Why would you go to adobe media encoder if its just for web and not go there always? Arent there more settings in media encoder? (the other day it seemed to be picking up the same settings as were in premiere anyway)

Dave the rescaling seems to make sense. Is this standard procedure? how do people deal with square pixel footage normally when using both after effects and premiere? Premiere seems very square pixel unfriendly… i cant seem to export my footage correctly either. It is either squashed because its trying to make it rectangular, or its quality is awful.
I was thinking of taking my premiere file and importing it into after effects, because i’ve never had trouble rendering from there… but when i bring the file in it will not go in the composition. If i do the dynamic link the file comes in as blank.
Any help with this is greatly appreciated… even if its something directing me on where I can learn more!
thanks.

Oh that’s really helpful!!!! I also found this which was sort of an obvious go to i missed:
https://help.adobe.com/en_US/PremierePro/4.0/WS03BF7479-8C7B-4522-8C75-210AD102524Ea.htmlthe “about square pixel” footage helped 🙂
great to know i can drag and drop, i was trying to figure out how to correctly incorporate the two programs. Will they autoupdate now as well? i was having problems getting the files to autoupdate.

March 22, 2010 at 12:50 pm in reply to: Precomp turning white in render, perhaps camera issueSOLUTION(s):
~ AE did not like the way i had copied and pasted the precomp above and below a layer, it seemed to loose the second part. I copied and made a new comp, which i then renamed, and there were no more issues.
~ It also worked if I pasted the keyframes from the camera null on my precomp layer onto my main comp’s camera.. and then enabled 3d on my precomped layer… i dont like this option as it makes editing later a bit tricky.
Hope this helps someone 🙂
