Im still unsure on how exactly to upconvert the footage, for im new in shake and really clueless.. its a 62 inch DLP HD Mitsubishi Sccreen. I have a top of the line LG Dvd player as well. My FCP project is SD. It looks good now on small TV’s, its going to be presented on a this 62 inch tv though. So i need to get it to look good on it or its the noose for me.

working with NTSC DV footage, i have a dual core intel mac, with 8 GB memory and 1.4 terabytes storage spacce. Using Adobe After Effects 7.0

well i finally got it looking good on a small tv, the problem is when i bring it the big 62 inch screen. I know i need to upconvert it now… i believe that will fix my problem… now into that big pyle of mess i go. i appreciate all your help

i know that.. but when i turn it into a m2v it compresses it so much it pixelates… i need to have a good export setting.

well honestly the only way i got it to look good was by exporting it with the Sorenson settings. The thing is though when i exported it from the FCP timeline my m2v settings were causing it to compress up.. and when i took it into the DVD program it compressed it even more. So now i exported it using the sorenson method and I have a 13 GB file thats good quality.. i cant get it on a DVD now.. its really driving me up a wall.

hmm okay so if im pretty much screwed unless i upconvert… they people are coming here to see the video on the 62 inch screen.

also, why would all of the old movies and stuff we watch on that tv look fine and not pixelated. It does look better on a small tv though, but i think because its a small tv.. lol.. how do i upconvert? I have shake and after effects.

well that would be a lot of footage to bring into quicktime. A lot of our footage has artifacts and is jus pixelated.. i cant explain it… i exported it a long time ago and it looked ok now it looks worse.. the quality on my FCP timeline looks great. I have to have this product out Monday, i really think DVD studio pro or compressor is causing it.
