I was able to fix this issue.

I upgraded to Snow Leopard and then had to downgrade back to Leopard. The FLV Component was deleted. I was able to find a backup FLV Component in my Previous Systems folder.

    Thanks for the help!

    Hi Wayne,
Are you saying that I”ll need to reinstall FCP again and then the flash conversion option will be there? Do I also need to download Flash?

Quality is ok on Video Flash Converter. I definitely got better quality exporting from FCP but i would say it is satisfactory for web video.

    Thanks for your help!

    Final Cut version 5.1.4
    Quicktime 7.6.4

I do not see Flash listed in my applications. I did purchase “Video Flash Converter” from Macvide a couple years ago but am not satisfied with the quality.

The weird thing is that I used to have the option to export to Flash from FCP and now that option is missing. It probably has something to do with upgrading to Snow Leopard and then having to downgrade back to Leopard?

    Hi Rafael,
Thanks for responding to my post, I had accidently not set up to receive notifications when someone responded so I just saw that you had commented.

The “FLV Export Component” is missing in the Main/Library/QuickTime folder. How can i get it there?

    Thank you!

  • Hello John,
Your suggestion worked, thank you so much! I exported as self-contained movie and there were no sync problems. I then just exported in quicktime as a .mov with the proper settings.

    Thanks again,
    Elizabeth

  • You were right, two different tracks. Thanks so much for the info! One more question, how do I add handles?

That’s what it was, I set it to “Dynamic” and it looks great. Didnt think to check that.

    Thanks for all the help!
