To create animations, you use the “Animation” window within ProAnimator. Select your objects, and in the Animation window, select the “Object Animations” and you can select one of the animation presets to use for your project. In addition, you can also choose the “Camera Animations” to select a camera animation preset to use for your project.
To learn more about creating animations with ProAnimator, you visit our ProAnimator video tutorials below, which will help get you started.

August 17, 2009 at 5:32 pm in reply to: large “spike” or stalactite appearing off one of the ‘O’ characters in my 3d textHi Dave,
When you have a spike in your letter, it means that the outline for the character is not filled completely. If the text is from a Illustrator file that you created, then double check the Illustrator file to make sure that the path is closed properly. If the 3D Text is from a system font, then you can use the “SpikeBuster” tool inside the “Object” tab to reduce the spikes in your letters. By increasing the SpikeBuster, it will take off the spikes.
If you need more information about ProAnimator, you can take a look at the ProAnimator manual. It goes over all the controls of the program, and it will provide tips and techniques for using the program.

Hi Duncan,
Right, each object is still an individual piece from one another. To scale them up together, you can select all 6 and them perform the scale command. Otherwise, you can select all the objects and use the “Pose Grouping” > “Make Group” command. This will group all the pyramids together, and you will get a blue selection around all your objects. When scaling up the objects, they will all scale together.

Hi Duncan,
You’re on the right track when you used the command “Move Selected Objects to Track”. Select all six pyramids, then move them to one single object track. Now, once they are in the same object track, move them using the “Pose Positioning” tools in the “Animation Controls” panel. As you’re using the pose positioning, your pyramids should move together.
Let me know if you are still having any issues.

Hi Dennis,
Make sure that you are running ProAnimator version 4.5.1.
In addition, be sure to have QuickTime 7 or DirectX 9. If you do not have QuickTime or DirectX, then it will render with a black screen.

Hi Bill,
Once you set up the cylinder with 3D Layer Warp, expand the settings for “Transform”. You will then be able to apply “X, Y, or Z Rotations”.

Hi Bill,
What you can try doing is to use “Bend One Side” for the Warp 1 setting so you can get the “sliding out of printer tray” look. After letting it slide out, you can apply Warp 2 with “Twist One Side” and give it small values varying in positive and negative to give it a wiggling effect as it’s sliding out. Then, eventually, remove the warp values so you end up with the flatten piece of paper.
Hope this helps!

July 31, 2009 at 12:25 am in reply to: Missing presets and texture pronlem in pro-animatorHi Steve,
If you are not using ProAnimator version 4.5.1, then I recommend downloading the latest version.
To download the latest version, please visit our download page listed below:
https://zaxwerks.com/cgi-bin/download.cgi
If you are already using version 4.5.1, to reset your swatches, do the following:
Go to “Documents (My Documents in Windows) > Zaxwerks” and delete the “ProAnimator” folder. Then, launch ProAnimator. When ProAnimator launches, it will recreate all the presets again, and you will all your swatches reset.

Hi Chris,
The Z-axis will look like it’s not as easy to position correctly because it is moving front and back slowly. However, if you adjust the values more, you will be able to see the controller and the 3D object move.

Hi Chris,
Right, you’ll have to set up your animation so that it leads up to the other animation. I’m not sure what you are trying to accomplish but if you are trying to animate a turn, you will have to set it up so it turns from 370 degrees to 740, and then back from 740 to 370. Then you can loop the animation over and over.
